Salisbury University’s Master ofScience in GeographicInformation SystemsManagement (GISM) integratesthe theoretical and appliedaspects of the GIS technologywith studies in both public andprivate administration, policyformulation, and informationsystem management. Theprogram consists of course workin Geography and Geosciences,Technology Management, PoliticalScience, Information Decision

Sciences, Leadership, and PublicAdministration. The curriculumprovides training on the latestGIS software and equipment andprepares students for careers ingeospatial science andadministration in governmentagencies, non-profitorganizations, consulting firms,private sector business, siteselection and logistics, socialservice and transportationplanning and analysis.

Program InformationThe M.S. in GISM at SU is uniqueamong all such programs. Itprovides a practical, hands-oneducational experience thatprepares students for a career inthe management of GIS. TheM.S. in GISM is a direct responseto the increasing value in usingGIS technology to allocate scarceresources in support of informedpolicy decisions.
