Hello everyone

I hope you had a wonderful weekend. This is the final full week of school for 2020. There is so much happening over the next 8 days, so please make sure that you keep this newsletter close by, so you and your family are ready for all upcoming events.

Year 5 Leadership Speeches This afternoon at 2:15pm our Year 5 students will read their speeches prior to students and staff voting for our School Captains and Vice Captains for 2020. All are welcome to attend. Welcome Home Kiera, May May and Sienna Our three intrepid travellers return today after 2 weeks at Stewart House in Sydney. I have had glowing reports from the staff at SH about our three students and I am so proud that they represented our school so well. Welcome back! Huge thank you to Mrs Francis from Palinyewah Public School who travelled back and forth with the girls, and to the staff at Stewart House for supporting our students with this fantastic opportunity. Year 6 Graduation Dinner This Wednesday night, we celebrate our graduating Year 6 students, Kyarna, Dominic and Kiera. Parents of our Year 6 students, Staff, Year 5 students and Year 6 themselves will all be enjoying a glamorous night at the Coomealla Club from 6pm-8:30pm. Presentation Day Next Tuesday we will have our Presentation Day, celebrating all the wonderful achievements of our students throughout the year. There will be a light morning tea after the ceremony. The Ceremony commences at 9:30am in the Assembly Room (B Block)

SaCC After School Program Finished for 2019 Just a reminder that there is no SaCC After School Program this Wednesday. This program has been a huge success and will be back in 2020.

This week in Kangas , in writing the students will be writing letters to Santa or a special friend. We will revise Mathematics topics, including Subtraction and Addition. In Visual Arts, the students will be working very hard to finish some beautiful Christmas decorations which they can take home.

Hello Everyone and welcome to Week 9!! We are so close to the end of Term that we are all starting to count ‘school days’ left, until the end of the year. We have all made a waiting chain for a Christmas count down. Each day the children remove a link and proudly announce the days left until Christmas. It has been a little Maths activity, as when the children made their chain, they had to measure the links to 4 centimetres each, and then had to count and connect, the right amount. Simple, but effective, and most of all, enjoyable! Last week’s Student of the Week was Wayne. He is certainly ready for Year 3 next year. He has such a positive attitude both socially and academically. He completes all given tasks and is a kind and caring class member. Well done to you Wayne. Our two achievement awards went to Shivontae and Ki-anne. Shivontae is always making sure our classroom is kept clean and tidy, and she cares for her surroundings. Ki-anne did some serious thinking to help her solve a problem that she had. Just what we are wanting to see from a future Year 6 student.

Just another quick reminder about Showcase. Could you PLEASE send in the black clothing ( Black Tee-shirt and leggings, shorts or track pants) that are required for a simple costume for this FRIDAY the 13th. When your child brings in their clothing, it is placed into a bag and labelled for the day. I need the clothes as soon as possible, so as if I need to purchase any extra, I can do so. Welcome back Maykeisha, Sienna and Keira. We are looking forward to hearing all about your learning experiences during your two weeks at Stewart House. Year Five Leadership speeches are occurring today, Monday, 9th December 2019. We wish them all the best, and hope all students listen attentively. We are practicing hard for our concert, and hope that we have a great audience. Christmas is fast approaching, students are enjoying the crafty side of it, but are still working at their academic tasks! Mrs Wienert, Susan, Uncle Will and students.

See Hear Feel Music Tuesday 10-10:30am We have Hannah running music again this week instead of Alison. This will be our last week of music until we recommence back in 2020. Come along and enjoy our last session of music for the year!!

Playgroup Tuesdays and Thursdays 11:00-2:00pm Last Thursday we attended the TSEP family day. What a huge turn out and fantastic afternoon. Playgroup will not be on this Thursday unfortunately due to Staff training. This will be our last week of running our normal programs in the SaCC room. Our Christmas break up party will be on Tuesday the 17th December at Mildura water Play Park from 12:30-2:30. Transport is available.

After school program— Wednesdays FINISHED FOR 2019 We had our final After School Program for 2019, last Wednesday. We are going to continue to run this next year in Term 1.
