Some Ea$y Ways to Help Summit Earn Free MoneyYour Ea$y Money Committee is fired up to help Summit raise some cash. How can you help? We’d love for each of you to do two simple things:

1. Clip Box Tops for Education; 2. Re-link your Harris Teeter

VIC card.

Here’s a little more information:

Box Tops for Eduction (BTFE) is such an easy way to get involved and raise money for Summit.

Clip the Box Tops from hundreds of participating products and send them to school on the Collection Pages from your Thursday folder. Each one is worth 10¢ when we redeem them.

Sign up to support our school at btfe.com, where you can track our progress, enter online promotions for eBoxTops and print coupons for your favorite Box Tops brands.

Together in Education (TIE) If you have a Harris Teeter VIC card, it’s time to re-link it to Summit. Our TIE code is 1075.

Every Harris Teeter brand pro duc t pu r ch a s e e a r n s Summit a percentage of those purchase dollars. Don’t wait… re-linking started on August 1st!

One more thing—please ask your neighbors, friends and grandparents to link their VIC cards to Summit as well. You’d be surprised how much money we can earn just be re-linking these cards.

Look for more news about Ea$y Money in your Thursday folder.

Spotlight: John Medina’s Brain Rules Frames Inspiring Learning 2012–13

This year’s series is based on the book Brain Rules by John Medina. He is a brain scientist who knows how to make his research interesting and usable. In his New York Times Best seller, Medina, a molecular biologist, shares his lifelong interest in how the brain sciences might influence the way we teach our children and the way we work.

In each chapter, he describes a brain rule—what scientists know for sure about how our brains work—and

then offers transformative ideas for our daily lives. This book will help you understand your own brain—and understand how your child thinks and learns as well.

Dr. Paul Laurienti, a Summit parent and director of the Laboratory for Complex Brain Networks at Wake Forest University, will give the first talk, Welcome to Brain Rules, on Thursday, November 8 at 7 pm.

You are warmly invited to come and learn. Bring a friend!
