Happy Spring Everyone,

The rain is hopefully over now that May is here.

We have our annual major fundraiser, the Taste of Glen Ellyn, coming up May 19, 20 and 21. We know the weather will be great so please sign up now to volunteer for one of our many positions from the Beer tent to our Security checkpoints at the gates. Contact Cheryl Shurtz of RE/MAX Suburban or Terry Smith-Pfeiffer of the Gold Rush Girls to coordinate a time with you.

If you are interested in the Business Expo please let Mike Egan of Sign*A*Rama know. He will sign you up and take good care of you.

The Community Awards Breakfast was a great success. We had over 100 in attendance and gave out many deserving awards. Many thanks to the Crowne Plaza for the fine job they did in accommodating us.

Our new website was launched at the beginning of April. Please take time to visit the site and click away to explore! It is outstanding. I really want to thank Lisa Edwards and Shane Duncan of Monkey Wrench Studios for the site redesign. It was a ton of work and they did a magnificent job. Make sure you check with the office about purchasing an enhanced listing. It is an outstanding value and virtually gives you your own micro web page. Please visit our website and read our email blasts as they tell you everything that is going on in the upcoming weeks.

I can’t say enough about how I appreciate the involvement of our members in all of our activities . Our lunches are extremely well attended and enjoyed. And, our membership always seems to be there when we need a volunteer for one of our events.

The kids will be out of school soon so make sure to keep an eye out for them when you are driving around town. Have a great spring. See everyone at the Taste!

• Wentworth Law Offices- 1st Anniversary Congratulations to Charles G. Wentworth of Wentworth Law Offices, P.C. on

his one year business anniversary. Charlie’s practice offers a wide range of legal counseling and advising needs. His practice involves areas of civil and appellate litigation and business advice and planning. Call 630-469-9600 to congratulate him.

• Sign Identity- 20th Anniversary Tom Van Winkle started Sign Identity after a 16 year career with a national

automotive parts company, where he was the Advertising/Marketing Director. Since he was familiar with the graphic design marketing side, he wanted to pursue a business that could draw on his business experiences. Computers were fairly new to the sign industry 20 years ago with most signs done free -hand by artists using markers or paint. Computerized sign equipment offered consistent logo and graphic reproduction in vinyl in larger sizes. The computer sign business has evolved from cut vinyl lettering to large format digital printing, offering full vehicle wrap graphics, roll-up, tear drop banners and back-lite displays. Tom and Sign Identity Inc. are ready to assist their customers with the right advertising signage for their target market. Congratulations, Tom!
