MBA Students Give Back Through Habitat for Humanity
The MBAA kicked off its philanthropic season with a bang on September 5, as a group of students volunteered their day for Habitat for Humanity of Centre County. Over 20 students were in attendance at the main worksite in State College, hammering nails for a family in need a good home. Because of the high level of interest in volunteering, some

Smeal Students Make an Impact On Historic Football Season
Penn State’s football team has gotten off to its first 9-0 start in nine years, and Smeal students have been in the thick of the action. First year Mark Rubin, the team’s starting safety, picked up Big Ten Player of the Week honors after the Lions’ 13-6 win over Ohio State. Rubin recorded a team-high 11 tackles in the game, and forced a fumble that led to Penn State’s only touchdown. Second year Paul Cianciolo also has contributed in a big
way this year as the team’s backup quarterback. On the season, he has completed 5-of-8 passes for 82 yards and a TD. Smeal’s less-athletically inclined students have also made a difference off the field, particularly through the continued tradition of top-notch tailgates. Sponsors such as Dell, PNC, Air Products, & M&T Bank have worked hand in hand with the MBA program’s student organizations to put together the festivities.
