My dad is a pharmacist, and now that I'm in medschool I've really come torealize how awesome hisknowledge ofpharmacology is. Thewhole time I was growingup I thought his job was justto count pills into a bottle, but now that we talk aboutthings that I'm learning, Iknow that's far from the
case. I will definitely beutilizing my pharmacycolleagues for consultationonce I'm in practice.

My sister is currently in her2nd year of pharmacy inCanada and I never realizedjust how much they learn. Ihad a clearly misconstruedidea about the timid and pill-
counting pharmacist until Ibecame aware of all of theknowledge. The training andthe options pharmacists canundertake upon completion. The role of the pharmacist Ithink has been so heavilystigmatized that people don'tunderstand just how usefultheir pharmacists can be. Ipersonally believe it is up tothe pharmacists to take on agreaterrole.
