GSAPP New York/Paris
New York/Paris is a fall and spring program that allows undergraduates and those who have at least their bachelor’s degree obtain the opportunity to learn and immerse themselves in a design studio environment. In this program, students get to examine different scales of design (an individual piece of clothing, to a room, to a building) as well as focus on sites in both Paris and New York and the circumstances that the structures are placed in.
Assignment 001- The Shirt
An Attempt at Exhausting a Place in ParisCritic: Thomas DeMonchaux
Upon visiting part of Orchard street in NYC, I observed the way pedestrians would walk with the weight they carried and the tension exhibited by the material used as the vessel. I modified two shirts to replicate the experience to the user who chooses to wear it.

Assignment 002 - The Screen
Display/DelayCritic: Eduardo Rega
Examining the location of the Flatiron Building, a screen is to be constructed to help direct the passerby’s visual interest around the site. By analyzing areas of sight based on the location of pedesrtrians, I created an armature that would take advantage of the angle from where an object would be hung.

Assignment 003 - The Dressing Room
Species of Spaces/Material in MotionCritic: Jane Kim
Taking a series of photos in the garment district, we use the information to create a diagram that will allow us to weave our previous screens into a public/private dressing room.

Assignment 004 - Area Seating
Sightlines/Site LinesCritic: Babak Bryan
Replace the facade of the New York Public Library with the Centre Pompidou. With this modified site I explored the possible correlating points inside the park and site that are designed for periods of transition or settlement. Blue tape is used to create a seating area in Bryant Park that allows visitors to move wherever they choose on the structure for a resting spot.
Final 001 - Fashion Atelier
Fabrication and FunctionCritic: Babak Bryan
Exploring a part of Lincoln Center, all previous models and concepts are combined to create a building that would hold offices, dressing rooms and all the needs for a fashion studio.

Taking the model from the previous final we integrate it into a portion of the Opera Garnier, addressing new specifics with the change in site.
Formworks
Our group’s response to create a modular wall formation in Morningside Park. Inspired by the textures of tree bark, we created a form that took advantage of its texture to create friction and hold pieces into place.
To complete this project at GSAPP, we modeled in Rhino 4.0, used CNC milling on foamcore, and casted in Ultracal plaster.

2005Created a series of water-based color paintings inspired by different songs and their lyrics.

2008 “Macguyver” [On Left]After spending four months traveling between Israel and West Bank. I became interested in reading “Orientalism” and examining western perception of the middle east. This puppet is my response. Later in the year I continued research and wrote further dissections about this discourse.

2012“Cry for Judas” The Mountain Goats
Designed and built the dollhouse rate maze featured. Assisted with additional dressing and sourcing of props for other parts of the set.

This two month long stop motion project required detailed assembly and sculpting of colored plasticine clay that would be morphed into different objects on set. Assisted with the facades on the houses.
Documentary Feature - Fabricator
2011“Magic of Heineken”Heineken
Cut and assembled armatures. Developed molds and casted puppet parts in latex foam and silicone. Created or modified additional props for characters to use on set.
Short Film - Props
2011“Grasshopper”Mayfair Pictures Sculpted a small pig out of Chavant clay, created a plaster mold, and casted additional copies with silicone. Prop pigs were to be used on set for rehearsals until real ones were used for final performance.

Created template pages to layout the text and graphics according to the requests of the show’s writers.
Once the graphics were approved, the sumi-ink work was scanned and printed out on tea-dyed Arches paper. Afterwards, the papers were further treated by using distressing powder and/or burning with a lighter.
