The Lawrence Chamber of Commerce has a longstanding tradition of presenting its membership with a quality lineup of strategic, mission-driven events and programs. As your business plans for 2013, we ask for your consideration in partnering with us as we strive to continue this tradition in the coming year.

Your sponsorship investment allows the Chamber not only to continually enhance the quality of its member programs, but to provide the valuable services that promote the economic wellbeing of our community. In addition, sponsorships are key to allowing the Chamber to maintain an affordable dues structure for businesses of all sizes.

Event sponsorships offer your company a substantial return on investment in the form of increased visibility and recognition of your support for the Chamber and the business community.

Your company automatically gains the publicity and brand recognition it needs to compete in today’s business environment when your company chooses to sponsor a Chamber event or program. You will reach local businesses and community leaders who appreciate those businesses that help support economic development. When you sponsor a Chamber event or program your company benefits from:

Publicity – Public recognition is not something that can be purchased – it must be earned. As the leading advocate for the Lawrence-Douglas County business community, Chamber events and programs are highly publicized and so too are their sponsors. Your company’s brand name is included in all collateral materials and print advertising to help you lock in valuable public recognition.

Brand Association – Companies that want to be recognized as industry leaders and community partners welcome the benefits of association with important business events. If your company endeavors to increase its name recognition among professionals, executives, managers and other influential business decision makers, Chamber events and programs are the answer.

Access to new business relationships – The one-on-one marketing aspects of Chamber events and programs allow our sponsors countless opportunities to open relationships with new clients and customers. Of course, these same opportunities are ideal for renewing and strengthening existing customer and client relationships as well.

We look forward to working with you and your business.

5-7 p.m. Bimonthly on the Second Thursday of the Month

The Chamber’s Business After Hours mixers offer Chamber members and guests a relationship-building experience in a relaxed, social environment. These popular networking events are held every two months, on the second Thursday of the month, from 5 - 7 p.m. There is no cost to attend. As business representatives in attendance vary from one mixer to the next, each event represents a unique opportunity for sponsors to reach targeted audiences. Sponsors are responsible for providing hors d’oeuvres and drinks in addition to a $250 sponsorship fee to the Chamber.  Traditionally, the Business After Hours host is also the sponsor, but we’ve had success using non-traditional venues where Chamber member businesses partnered to provide a memorable experience for attendees.

Presenting Sponsor - $250 Presenting Sponsors receive exclusive recognition throughout all Chamber communications promoting the event and one free, dedicated email blast for use in distributing a personalized invitation direct from the host to Chamber membership. Sponsors are also granted the opportunity to briefly address the crowd if so desired.

Business After hours

Page 11: Membership Matters: Sponsorship & Marketing Guide, 2013

Each morning, Monday through Friday, we wake up, prepare for the day and head off to work. For most of us, the daily commute to and from the office is a matter of mere minutes.

Lawrence’s location, tucked neatly between the two major metropolitan areas of Topeka and Kansas City, can be a boon for many businesses. It also means that many of our residents (almost 6,000) begin their day with a lengthy commute away from Lawrence. With drive times of an hour or more added to both ends of the workday, these commuters will spend the majority of their waking hours each week outside their home community. To keep our residents informed on issues important to this community, the Chamber is pleased to introduce its newest program, Commuter Connection. This informational luncheon series will provide local information and discussion to our residents working outside Lawrence.

These events are held twice annually, once in Topeka and once in Kansas City, over the lunch hour with on pertinent topics of the day. The first event of the series is slated for April.

com-mut-er: n. 1) a person who travels back and

forth regularly between two places, i.e. between

a city and suburb for work. 2) a person whose

schedule makes it difficult to be active in his or

her home community.

Presenting Sponsor - $1,000 (Limit 1)Presenting Sponsors receive primary placement of their business name and/or logo throughout all print and electronic media, marketing materials and event signage. Presenting Sponsors are given eight reserved seats at the lunch and provided the opportunity to address the audience (if desired) and place company materials at each seat.

Lunch Sponsor - $500 (Limit 1)Lunch Sponsors enjoy company name recognition throughout all print and electronic media, marketing materials and event signage. Lunch Sponsors receive four reserved seats at the event and are recognized from the podium during the program.

legislAtive events

The Lawrence Chamber of Commerce presents numerous events throughout the course of the year, ensuring the voice of the business community is heard by local, state and federal elected officials.  Each event has a specific focus and keeps legislators aware of the concerns, challenges and opportunities faced by our area employers.

Through our Congressional Series of events, the Chamber of Commerce creates opportunities to engage directly with our federal delegation – U.S. Senators Pat Roberts and Jerry Moran and U.S. Representative Lynn Jenkins (District 2).  Events range from an informal “Coffee with a Congressman” to more formal meetings, often open to the public. The Chamber hosts a wide range of events with our local and state officials to increase their awareness of the Lawrence-Douglas County business community and its value to the State.

Email Blast: $250 for 1 use; $500 for 3; $750 for 5Email blasts are a dedicated email sent from your company to your fellow Chamber members. These are a great way to get your business’ or organization’s message to a group of people who are committed to local business and the community. The email reaches about 1,400 members. To send an email blast, Chamber members should provide:

• Message information and/or imagery (JPG or PDF is OK)

• Desired Subject Line• Person or Company Name from whom the email

should come (i.e. Lawrence Chamber or Alice C. Hunt, Lawrence Chamber)

• Email to which people may respond with questions or comments.

Mailing List: $250 for 1 use; $500 for 3; $750 for 5Have a letter, postcard or invitation you need to get to the 1,400 most influential business people in Lawrence and Douglas County? The list can be distributed one of two ways. We can print the labels for you and deliver them to be affixed to a letter or mailer piece. Or, we can send an Excel document licensed for one (1) use.

The Lawrence Chamber must approve the artwork prior to sending, and does not allow the Chamber mailing list to be used in certain instances, like political mailings. There is a contract that states the member will use the list only once. The Chamber will release the list after the signed contract is received.
