Supporting Education in the Golf Course Industry
ASGCA Patrons support ASGCA members in their efforts to create golf courses—both new and renovated—that are aesthetically pleasing,
technically sound, environmentally sensitive and economically viable.
Whether a manufacturer or distributor of golf course products, a golf course builder or provider of a service to support the development and construction process, ASGCA Patrons provide a broad set of solutions useful in many golf course projects.
ASGCA Patrons also support ASGCA and its long-standing efforts to advocate on behalf of the golf course industry, through education and communications about the positive environmental, economic, social and recreational benefits of golf courses. ASGCA was founded in 1946 by Donald Ross, Robert Trent Jones and 12 other distinguished golf course architects. Since then, ASGCA members have
designed, renovated and counseled thousands of golf courses around the world, from layouts that host major golf tournaments to practical courses and alternative facilities that welcome new players.
In order to gain membership in the organization, ASGCA members undergo an extensive, peer-reviewed process that typically requires two years to complete. The average ASGCA member has practiced golf course architecture for more than 25 years and had designed or renovated dozens of layouts. ASGCA members develop detailed plans and specifications to help plan new golf facilities of many types or simply help make existing layouts more playable, technically sound or economically successful.
