Typical User

• Our typical user is Otto, a New York businessman and rental car user in his forties. His job requires him to travel frequently through the US, so he rents cars with the MemoryDrive driver preference system.

Technology

•  MemoryDrive users like Otto simply have to plug in their smartphone, and the MemoryDrive app communicates all the driver’s saved settings with the car.

•  Even if cars have options for different levels of autonomy, these settings are saved in the user preferences app and communicated to the rental car upon entry.

•  While the MemoryDrive system does not build in any additional safety features, the customization of the experience will also make it safer, as situation awareness will not be compromised in order to make adjustments to the driving experience.

Driver Settings • Otto’s driver settings

also adjust. He is used to a steering wheel that requires a few spins to make the car turn, so that’s how the wheel responds in his rental car. He likes to drive manual with a minimal level of autonomy, so the car adjusts to that. He has also pre-set the sensitivity of the gas and brake pedals.

• The window tint is also adjusted for Otto.

the country Pandora station he picked on the plane starts playing, so he doesn’t have to mess with the stereo system.
