RUSSIAN Company History• The Mining Company for Opencasts, Underground, infrastructure and

Washing Plants (GIPROSHAHT) was founded in 1929.

• The Mines, Infrastructure and Washery plants thus constructed and jointly-

operated with project owners under several hundred projects have found

successful application and are widely known all over the world. European

Ventures Ltd is the financial partner of Giproshaht and also responsible for

International project funding.

• During this period, First in the Soviet Union and later Russia there were

built, commissioned and operated 244 coal projects and 17 granite mines,

49 washery beneficiation plants & briquette plants.

• Since 1982 ‘GIPROSHAHT’ was appointed as the EXCLUSIVE Chief

International Project Organization under assistance of former USSR. Thus

several projects were successfully realized since this period Internationally

including INDIA .

We take pride in the fact that a total of 52 projects for coal mines, 16 projects of Washery plants were developed Internationally in the following countries where construction and operation were made by local government under Soviet assistance including current Russia :

- for India – 14 coal mines, 2 washery plants were projected;

- for PRC – 23 projects of coal mines , 5 projects of washery;

- for Vietnam – 3 projects of coal mines , 4 projects of washery;

- for Bulgaria – 2 projects of coal mines;

- for Romania – 2 projects of coal mines;

- for Democratic People’s Republic of Korea –3 projects of coal

mines,1 project of a washery plant

- Currently 1-project at India is under planning stage, 2 Projects

at Indonesia at implementation stage , 1-project at Bulgaria

under operation and 12-projects in Russia under various stages

of planning-construction and operation.

INDIAN HISTORY

India has been a partner country for

GIPROSAHT since 1960s whereby several critical projects were executed of National Importance.

• Since 1983 until 1987, we worked in India. in the Central Mine Planning and Design Institute (CMPDI, Ranchi, India).

• Carried out mine planning together with educating and consulting Indian experts, and jointly planned coal mines and collieries such as

Jhanjra, Kapuria, Gidi-A, Umrer, Ramgahr, Talchir, Jayant, South Balanda, Mukunda-Jharia, Singrauli and others.

• We developed projects on modernization and improvement of coal mines Gidi-A (state of Bihar, India) and Umrer (state of

Maharashtra, India) to reach higher coal production and transfer Underground Mining into Open cast .

INDIAN COLLABORATION WITH RUSSIA – 2002 report

GIPROSHAKHT has assisted Coal India Ltd in the

implementation of :

•Nigahi opencast project(Northern Coalfields Ltd.) Stagewise

construction of Nigahi coal stripping, the total capacity of 14 mln

tons of coal per year including 4.3 mln t at the first stage with

Coal Handling plants.

•Khadia opencast project (Northern Coalfields Ltd.),

•Jhanjra underground project (Eastern Coalfields Ltd.) including

re-engineering without hampering 500mtr shaft during 2002.

• Master planning of Talcher Coal mines.

Raspadskaya Coal Preparation Plant

The factory meets the most advanced

engineering requirements and is

technically equipped for enrichment of

coal from Raspadskaya Mine, MUK-96 Mine

and Razrez Raspadsky. It was put into

commission in 2005.

The preparation plant has a minimum

capacity of 7.5 million tons of black coal

annually.
