Charles and Sharon were called to serve in missions at a very young age but did not get to the mission field until age 40. They first served in Peru, South America for two short years until Sharon was diagnosed with cancer. They left in 2002 when she was given six months to live. Seventeen years later, they give God the glory for His divine intervention and restoration in not only sparing Sharon’s life but also allowing them to return to serve Him in Mexico in 2005. "A Scout is Reverent" Each year, the Boy Scouts of America designates the Sunday that falls before the Scouting Anniversary Day (February 8) as Scout

Sunday. Scouts with Units 133 attend service together at First Protestant Church on Scout Sunday to show appreciation to their sponsor** and to

celebrate the anniversary of scouting.**Since inception, the Boy Scout (Scouts BSA – 2/1/19) Troop, Cub Scout Pack and Venturing Crew have been sponsored by First Protestant Church of New Braunfels. First as Troop 104 in 1926; Troop 104 and Troop 103 became Troop 133 in October 1942. The Pack - First as Pack 3133 in 1953, became Pack 133

in 1954. Crew 133 new-unit formed in 2017.Thank you First Protestant Church for your support of scouting in our community! We are estimating our hikers will be coming by around 400pm or so. It is a hike-based experience through downtown New Braunfels with faith stops at our local religious institutions. Each faith stop will include discussions about what they believe, how the institution is organized, commandments, etc... This event is an opportunity for individuals and families to find appreciation for each other’s faiths and our hope is to grow in faith. In a world where fear and social issues are becoming more prevalent in society we need to provide reaffirmation that faith in God who reigns over all is needed just as we need air to breathe.
