Agenda


› The MINI-LINK SP 415/420 combines multiple functions into a single platform that provides Layer 3 (IP) routing, and Layer 2 (Ethernet) network aggregation, as well as advanced services for applications. The MINI-LINK SP 415/420 provides carrier-class reliability, scalability, performance, and an optimal power footprint.

› The MINI-LINK SP 415/420 platform supports the following functions:- Comprehensive range of interior and exterior gateway routing protocols.

- Peering, edge aggregation.

- End-to-end Ethernet transport services with direct connection to the access layer of the network.

- Traffic management with Quality of Service (QoS) and traffic shaping.- Direct connection to the access layer of the network, which eliminates unnecessary network

layers and reduces complexity.

› The MINI-LINK SP 415/420 in combination with other Ericsson products provides a complete end-to-end solution for the following:

- IP Radio Access Network (IP RAN)—Layer 3

- Mobile Backhaul (MBH)—Layer 2 and Layer 3

› Is an Ethernet networking standard informally known as QinQ ,provider bridging, Stacked VLANs, or Q-in-Q.

› QinQ allows multiple VLAN tags to be inserted into a single frame.

› QinQ allows multiple VLAN tags in an Ethernet frame; together these tags constitute a tag stack. When used in the context of an Ethernet frame, a QinQ frame is a frame that has 2 VLAN 802.1Q headers (double-tagged).

Site A ML-TN configuration

-Confirm that Basic NE configuration is matched with latest IP design.


› Set Ethernet switch mode to be “Provider bridge 802.1ad”

› Change LAN DCN port from “Front connector” to “Unused”



› Connect LAN DCN port to any free switch port.



› Set LAN DCN switch port role to CN-UNI.



› Prepare 1st LAN port which is connected to SP.



› Prepare 2nd LAN port which is connected to SP.



› Set switch port role for both LANs as I-NNI.



› LAG creation.



› Add row then select master & member ports.



› Check LAG alarms.



› Create management VLAN & add (DCN & LAG) ports to it.› Untag LAN DCN port.



› Confirm the connectivity by telnet on TN to ping SP.



› Set WAN to any free switch port.



› Set WAN port role to I-NNI.



› Add WAN port to MGT & traffic VLANs.



Site B ML-TN configuration (1)

› -Confirm that Basic NE configuration is matched with latest design.


› Repeat slide 7 to 10 & 19 to 20.



› Prepare LAN port which is connected to TCU.



› Set LAN port which is connected to TCU as CE-UNI & choose “Configure Provider bridge setting” in bottom .




› Add rows to map S-VLAN to Iub , Mub & Abis C-VLANs


› Create MGT & Traffic VLANs as shown.



› Confirm the connectivity by telnet on TN to ping SP.
