Useless and interesting facts brought to you by Krystal—Hello All! Happy Independence day! Did you know it was actually on July 2, 1776, that the Declaration of Independence began? It start-ed with a letter to Britain’s King George to explain why the Conti-nental Congress voted to declare America’s Independence. It was on July 4th, that the final wording of the declaration was agreed. The first Independence Day was celebrated on July 8, 1776, in Philadelphia and the official sign-ing took place on August 2. July was originally the month of Quin-tilis in the Roman calendar. It was the fifth month of the year
until January and February were added in 450 BC. It got its origi-nal name from the Latin word for fifth. Later the name was changed to Julius in honor of Jul-ius Caesar who was born on July 12th. Krystal – Executive Director

Exercise has count-less benefits for those of
all ages, including a healthier heart, stronger
bones and improved flexi-bility. For seniors, there
are additional benefits, like the fact that regular exer-cise reduces the risk of
chronic diseases, lowers the chance of injury and can even improve one's
mood.
EXERCISE FOR SENIORS
STRENGTHENING EXERCISES:
Using weights, resistance bands or even large soup
cans or water bottles during a workout presents a low
impact way to increase your overall strength.
Every Friday morning @ 10:00 we have Bible study outside or in the Activity Room with Skip!
On Weekends it is your time to catch up on personal reading and relax. I would
like to see everyone come down and try a new game or activity this month. Puzzles and games will always be available in the
activity room or upstairs in the library area.
