    In July 1949, earing nationalisation o the refineries, Tate and Lyle turned their logo into a cartoon character intendedto symbolise and deend the ree trade values o the sugar industry. Mr Cube battled against state control o the sweeter

    things in lie and against Clement Attlees Labour government, still busy putting the building blocks o the welare statein place. In the preceding comic strip Mr Cube Strikes, we have reimagined Mr Cube in a variety o comic strip stylesrom the wholesome adventure comics o the 1950s through to the overblown superheroics o the 21st Century.
