FROM THE PRINCIPALS DESK

MR JACKSONS BACK ALRIGHT!

If you missed the NBN news last night you missed a great story. Our very own kindergarten teacher, Mr Jackson was interviewed after his daily videos to KJ went viral. Each day Mr Jackson sends a home-made video to his class to encourage participation, learning and of course laughing during lockdown. You can watch the news report HERE if you missed it. Mr Jackson was also a headline story on Newcastle ABC News. today.

Not to let Mr Jackson have all the glory some of his very own students have also compiled videos of their days during lockdown. Jackson and Will have been busy making these videos to share with KJ LINK TO NEW LAMBTON SOUTH PUBLIC SCHOOL FACEBOOK PAGE:

ART WORKS

Many of our students have been enjoying their art lessons during lockdown. With our Nations leaders seen so often on the television and social media lately its no wonder our students mastered these portraits. Check out the wonderful work that have been completed by some of our students.

Schools and outside of school hours care (OOSHC) services are open for any child that needs it. Whilst we are on Level 4 lockdown the following COVID-19 guidelines apply:

- NO visitors or parents on the school site. - Minimal staff on site – must wear masks whilst indoors. - Students are not required to wear masks. - No assemblies or excursions. - Parents only to enter school grounds if essential, via Gate 4 and must wear a mask.

Updated communication released from the Department of Education can be found by clicking here.

CANTEEN CLOSED

Please remember that during the current COVID guidelines our school canteen is NON- OPERATIONAL.

STAGE 3 CLASSROOM UPGRADES

Approval has been given for the Stage 3 classroom upgrades. These classes are quite small with a lot of big furniture to cater for the older students. The upgrades will open up classrooms to the St James Road side of the building with decks to be built and an outdoor landscaped learning area created for all students. Works will commence soon on this project and we look forward to the final product.

BOOK WEEK PARADE

As you are no doubt aware our annual book week parade has had to be postponed. We know that there are a lot of kids that have great costumes and we are really looking forward to seeing them all. We will have a belated book week parade when the kids return to school.
