Murwillumbah East Primary School Newsletter Term 4, Week 8 29th November, 2016 2017 School Councillors At last Friday’s K-6 assembly, our students and staff were rewarded with some exceptional speeches from Year 5 students wishing to stand as our 2017 School Councillors. Congratulations to Orla, Joanne, Kelsey, Lily, Felicity and Morgan who all excelled themselves. Every one of these students would make excellent leaders of our school. Following their speeches all students from Years 2-6 voted for four councillors of their choice. In 2017, due to such a small cohort in Year 5, there will be four councillors instead of the usual six. Our new leaders will be announced at our Year 6 Presentation Assembly on Monday 5th Dec at 9:30am. I wish them all the very best of luck! P&C Meeting - Earlier Start of 6:00pm Our last P&C meeting for the year is tonight, 29th November at the earlier start time of 6:00pm. I hope to see lots of you there. Childminding will be available. Learning Ladder - 2017 Kindergarten Congratulations to all our Learning Ladder students who will complete their program this week. It is lovely to have you in our school each week and we look forward to seeing you all every day next year. This week, letters will go home to Learning Ladder students advising them on their Best Start time next year and their starting date that is Thursday, 2nd February 2017. Please mark the date in your diaries, the students really get so excited to see their parents at school. Volunteers Morning Tea - A final thank you to all our volunteers. It was great to personally thank you for all that you have done for our school in 2016 at our morning tea last Thursday. 2017 School Councillors

At last Friday’s K-6 assembly, our students and staff

were rewarded with some exceptional speeches

from Year 5 students wishing to stand as our 2017

School Councillors. Congratulations to Orla,

Joanne, Kelsey, Lily, Felicity and Morgan who all

excelled themselves. Every one of these students

would make excellent leaders of our school.

Following their speeches all students from Years 2-6

voted for four councillors of their choice. In 2017,

due to such a small cohort in Year 5, there will be

four councillors instead of the usual six.

Our new leaders will be announced at our Year 6

Presentation Assembly on Monday 5th Dec at

9:30am. I wish them all the very best of luck!

P&C Meeting - Earlier Start of 6:00pm

Our last P&C meeting for the year is tonight, 29th

Canteen Snack Shack

Canteen Roster is in need of more volunteers.

month. Parents and carers on our roster volunteer

SANTALAND IN MURWILLUMBAH The Salvo’s Store, in Main Street, Murwillumbah is

again hosting Santaland, where you can have your

photos taken with Santa in a beautifully decorated

Christmas setting.

Santa will be in the store on the following dates and
