Kanye-west homecomingThe song is about Kanye’s hometown Chicago with Kanye using a metaphor to describe the city as a young girl called Wendy. The song features vocals from alternative rock band Coldplay’s lead singer Chris Martin who also helped to write the song. Kanye goes and challenges the hip hop genre by featuring an artist not only from an different genre but also a artists from the UK. This type of collaboration was unusual at that time

The music video is shot in black and white to perhaps give the video a historic feel as Kanye explores the city and remembers the area where he grew up. Also the black and white shows him reminiscing his past and how he has developed. The black and white filter could be used to show the city in a different light. The filter maybe is used alongside the song for us to paint our own picture of the city and put our own colours into it. Chris Martin is shot throughout the video using a silhouette effect over-layered on video of himself performing, Chicago and Kanye West. In the silhouette bit there are bits when Kanye and the city are together in the silhouette which could maybe represent that he is the city or he is close to the city. The video mainly features Kanye dancing in back of a reflective vehicle off of which the audience can see buildings passing by. It’s clear that this is a low budget but professionally made video. In our music video we hope to have the video professional looking even though its very...very.......very low budget!
