The first scene is of an establishing shot of the setting which is of the countryside. This demonstrates that the setting is quite classic that contrasts from a life in the city where the atmosphere is more hectic and busy. Whereas with this scene, the audience is able to establish a more tranquil and calm atmosphere. The effect that filters the scene to look almost brown reflects a contrast from the modern day atmosphere. It also demonstrates a more isolated setting that is away from society.

The next scene is in a mid-shot of the two main actors in the video. This helps to establish the start of the music video’s narrative as it introduces the two main characters that will be part of its narrative. As this is shown straight after the shot of the setting conveys that they are surrounded by the isolated setting that is away from society.

This mid close-up shot is used to allow the audience to have a closer look into one of the significant symbols of the video that is tattooed onto the girls’ arms. This may suggest that there is significance to the symbol which brings mystery to the music video’s narrative. Fans of the song’s artist may recognise the symbol as the artist’s signature symbol that they use in order for them to be easily recognised.

The variety of shots used to convey the other actors in the video looking at the two sisters conveys that the two girls may be different from the others and are going against the norms or society. This may be linked back to the tattoos. In other words, the girls do not belong into the right society in which they live in. Even their clothes differ from the others as their clothing looks more modern whereas the other actors’ clothing looks more cliché to the look of the past.

This other establishing shot contrasts from the establishing shot used in the beginning of the music video of the countryside. This demonstrates the change of the setting as it portrays a more modern day society. However the brown effect is still visible to this scene which could have a link to the two sisters as this may be the society where they belong.

This mid-shot is used to show the older sister riding her horse into the modern day city. The juxtaposition of the horse and the city demonstrates how she still has a bit of the old country life in her as she enters a new life.

This shot is a significant one to illustrate the narrative of the music video. The focus on the new actor in the music video is to convey to the audience that she plays a significant part as a tattoo similar to the one the audience has seen on the two sisters is visible on her too. This suggests that this woman may be linked to the new sisters and because she belongs to the modern day city, may suggest that the two sisters too belong in the same society as the woman.

The last couple of shots are shot in more brighter colours which contrasts from the rest of the music video which was overtaken by brown, old effects. This portrays the difference from the sisters past life to the life that the older sister has discovered which is set in a more modern and lively society where they appear to be more fitted into and happier living in.
