A Catholic school is an extension of the family and the Church, and as such, embodies the values and teachings of Jesus Christ. This is highly visible through its symbols, liturgies, and relati onships in a setti ng which upholds the dignity of each student.

A Catholic school teaches the Ontario Ministry of Educati on curriculum with a diff erence – grounded in the Religion and Family Life educati on programs. Catholic atti tudes and values permeate each individual area of experience and learning in our schools.

The travelers on the road to Emmaus failed to recognize that they walked with Christ. It was only when Jesus blessed and broke the bread that Cleopas and his companion recognized their Lord (Luke 24.30-31).

We encounter Christ in our Catholic Learning Environment. In our Catholic schools, we recognize the risen Christ not only in the signs, symbols, and ritual acti ons of our faith, but also in the life-giving relati onships where we are Christ for the other.

Cleopas and his companion walked the road from Jerusalem together. They refl ected on all that happened prior to, and following the death of Jesus (Luke 24.13-14).

We encounter Christ in our Catholic Staff . In our Catholic schools our staff journey together as we grow in faith and the knowledge of Christ. As we model this faith in all that we do, we become Christ for the other.

Cleopas and his companion were forever changed by their encounter with the risen Lord. They immediately got up and returned to Jerusalem to tell the disciples all that they had witnessed (Luke 24. 35).

We give witness to Christ in our Catholic Community. Enlightened by the Good News, we go forth from our Catholic schools to proclaim the Gospel in word and deed. Formed in faith, our acti ons serve to affi rm all that is life-giving in our communiti es and to be criti cal of the aspects of our culture which are contrary to the values of our faith traditi on.
