Niinikoski has diverse experience in fashion, both as the designer of her own brand and as the

leader of a team of designers. She was appointed as Nanso’s new lead designer in May 2015. Niinikoski has a solid experience in printed patterns, which are also included in Nanso’s key areas of expertise.

“The combination of tricot material and printed patterns provides a wealth of interesting opportunities that I in-tend to push forward,” says Niinikoski.

The competition in the field poses a challenge, and Nanso, known for its strong Finnish design, has been looking for its place in the new field of competi-tion over the last few years.

“Being successful in the world of fashion requires the constant ability to adapt to change as well as the boldness to try new things. My team and I will lead Nanso in a new, interesting direc-tion,” describes Niinikoski.

Nanso employs a number of great Finnish designers and professionals in textile manufacture, who are under Niinikoski’s leadership.

“A key part of my work is to inspire and motivate designers. We want to make good, wearable clothes with

an added topical twist,” describes Niinikoski.

Nanso’s strength is based on unique professional skills and a set of values that has been passed on from genera-tion to generation in this family-owned business. Niinikoski’s own design philosophy follows the same lines:

“I think that an interesting design will also hold up against time and not be put aside after one use.”▪

Patterns are an important part of Nanso’s identity and its strong compe-tence in design. Lead Designer Noora Niinikoski believes that patterns also hold the key to Nanso’s success.
