The heat energy demand for heating is 46 % lower than required by the
Croatian building code.Energy savings
and basis of
calculation (eg. building
code, final energy consumption according to
bills, etc.)
Heat energy is produced by heat pumps integrated in air-condition system
using exhaust air and air from underground levels. Maximum heating and
ventilation capacity is 400 kW. Average COP level is 2.8. Heat energy for
cooling is supplied by adiabatic process, air-condition integrated mechanical
cooling and compact cooling device. Total cooling capacity is 1068 kW.
Average COP level is 4.1. Through integrated design concept high percentage
of energy recuperation is achieved – 80 to 92%.

The heat energy demand for heating is 71 % lower than required by national
code.Energy savings

Large shopping, entertainment and communication areas are heated by
centralized air conditioning system consisting of ventilation chambers with heat
exchangers (summer - adiabatic cooling 60%, 1570 kW + external cooling
devices 40%, 1500 kW) and heat recovery (winter 75-85%, 4300 kW, COP 2,8
+ additional heating 1330 kW).
Heating system of retail area (60%) consists of heat pumps (air-water)
recovering waste heat of cooling system and additional heat (if needed) is
supplied by gas boiler (600 kW). Cooling energy is produced in external cooling
system. Fan coils are used for heat energy supply (heating and cooling).

Unique example of intergrated design and energy concept.Replication and

All energy system are integrated with the digital regulation
which combines them into one energy efficient system. This is
achieved with free programmable control units, which allow
every function of the building being easily accommodated.
Digital regulation gets the final touch with the BMS, which
combines controlling, alarming, reporting and many other
complex components of the integrated system, with simple and
user friendly operating, from one or more places, also provides
excellent possibilities for data analyzing and optimizing and
rational use of enegy.

For heat energy production existing centralised system is used consisting of 2
boilers of 580 kW (existing) using natural gas. Heating and cooling distribution
system is reconstructed to 4 pipe fan coil system. Air conditioning system is
added using heat from centralised system. DHW is produced in centralised
system. Kitchen area is mechanically ventilated.

The electricity consumption of heat pumps is 80,6 % lower than by use of
electricity boilers.Energy savings
and basis of
calculation (eg. building
code, final energy consumption according to
bills, etc.)
The main system uses condensing potential of the heat pump of 115 kW for
SHW preparation. Waste water from the sanitary block is used for the
evaporation. The waste sanitary water has sufficient thermal potential and in
energy balance gives about 80-90% of energy recovery.
