Historically nbn™ Fixed Wireless has used a balanced downlink/uplink configuration (4:4:2). Following changes to nbn’s ACMA licences in December 2018, nbn must complete changes to the TDD Frame configuration to 6:2:2 by 30 March 2020.

Changing the TDD Frame configuration will reduce interference with other TDD spectrum carriers, and make more download bandwidth available for residential customers.

RMID079225-50/5-20 nbn™ Fixed Wireless Bandwidth Profile Withdrawalnbn notified RSP customers in December 2018 that the 25-50/5-20 Fixed Wireless speed tier would no longer be available from 17 December 2019. A program of work to modify end user services to another speed tier is necessary so that there is no loss of service for end users.
