Nessie 3/2-Way Zone-Drain-Valves types VDM 2E, VDHT 15E, VDHT 15EC andVDH 30EC "Soft-Charge"

Generally TheNessie®3/2wayvalveshaveinparticularbeendesignedforapplicationsinhigh-pressurehumidificationandadiabaticcoolingsystems.EachvalvehasanIN,OUTandDRAINport.WhenthevalveisnotinoperationtheconnectionbetweenINandOUTisclosedwhiletheconnectionbetweenOUTandDRAINstaysopen.Thisallowstoinstantaneouslyreliefthepressureatshutdownfromtheapplication,typicallyanozzlebranch,topreventthenozzlesfromdripping.Ifdesired,thenozzlebranchcanbeentirelydrainedaftershutdowntoavoidbacterialgrowth.Furthermore,eachvalvehasitsindividualpropertiestomatchexactlythespecificneedsinsizeandfunctionality.

AllNessievalvesaremadeofstainlesssteel(AISI304)andaresuitableforpotableandtechnicalwater.Theyhaveanextremelylongservicelifeforatleastonemillionoperationsandareeventhenveryeasytoservice.

InlinevalvesareavailablewithEuropeanBSPthread(G-thread)andAmericanNationalPipeThread(NPT).FortheVDHT15ECandVDH30ECDanfossoffersawiderangeofsingleandmultiplemanifolds.

TheenclosureratingisIP67,includinganystandardsolenoidcoil.AlargevarietyofcoilsforvarioussupplyvoltagesisavailableforallNessievalves.

TheVDM2Eisaverysmallandcompactvalveforminorflowratesupto1.8litresperminute(0.5gpm).Itisadirectoperatedtypeofvalvewithjustonecoil.Itissuitableforsystemswithmanyzoneswithfewnozzlesandisaverycosteffectivesolution.

TheVDHT15Eisamediumsizesingleinlinevalveforflowratesupto15litresperminute(4gpm).ItisbasedonthelatestNessievalvetechnology,comprisingapistontypeNCvalveandaNOpilotstageinonehousing.Itcoversaverywideflowrangealreadystartingfrom1litreperminute(0.26gpm)andistheidealsolutioninsteadofusing2separatevalves(1NCand1NO).TheVDHT15Erequires2solenoidsactivatedbyacommonsignal(i.e.24VAC).

TheVDHT15EC3/2istheCetop3variantoftheVDHT15E,bymeansthatconnectionsaremadethroughavalveblockormultiplevalvemanifold.Inmultiplevalveapplicationsupto5valvescanbeinstalledonacommonmanifoldsidebyside,savingtime,spaceandplumbingeffort.

TheVDH30ECisahighlydedicatedvalvefordemandingapplications,i.e.withlongpiperunsorverylargeflowratesupto30l/min(8gpm).ItconsistsofoneNCandoneNOpilotoperatedpistontypevalveinonehousing.Averyspecialfeatureofthisvalveisthesocalled“Soft-Charge”functionality;whenoperatingthetwosolenoidcoilswithatimedelay,thevalveworksasaflowdivider,allowingtofilltheapplicationpipesatareducedflowrate(lesspressure).Therewithwaterhammeringandpressureshocksatswitch-onandshut-offcanbeeliminated.Furthermore,thevalveispreparedforindividualadjustmenttoacertainflowrate;byinsertinganorificeintheOUT(B-)orDRAIN(T-)-porttheflowdiversioncanbemanipulated.

TheHVACblocksareespeciallydesignedforinductapplicationswhereanadditionalflushvalveinstalledontheblockallowstoflushthesystemforimprovedhygiene.3differenttypesareavailablefor1,2or3VDHT15ECorVDH30ECplusoneadditional2/2-wayVDHTflushvalve.Theblockscompriseonecommonconnectionforthepressurelinefromthepumpstationandonecommondrainportforpressurereliefandflushing.Foreachdischargeanoutletportisavailable.TheHVACblockisaverycostefficientsolutioni.e.inin-ductsystemswith6-stepvalvecontrol.EachVDH/VDHTvalveisoperatedbytwocoils(NCandNO),whiletheflushvalveisasinglecoilNCvalve.Pleasealsorefertothelistofcodenumbersonpage5.

Bothmultiplevalveconceptsareveryservicefriendlyasthevalvescanindividuallybedetachedfromthemanifoldforservicewithinafewminutes.VDHT15ECvalvescanbeservicewhileinstalledontheblock.

Allmanifoldscanbeconnectedfrombothsides,allowingahighlevelofflexibilityforplacingthemi.e.directlyonthepumpingstation.ForaspareblockpositionDanfossoffersabindplatetocovertheconnectionswhennotinuse.

TheHVACblockandthemultiplevalvemanifoldsareinterconnectable,i.e.insystemswithmorethan5valves.Danfossrecommendsbondedsealfittingsforallconnections.
