The s ubvolcanic dike rocks are t he main compo-nents of the Zidarovo central magmatic complex. They are represen ted by two di ke series : t he fi rst was formed parallel to the volcanic activity and the second- towards the end of the volcani c ac tivity or immediate ly after its termination. I n time they preceed the Zi-darovo intr us ive. After the classification and nomenclature of Streckeisen the first series comprises leucite phonotephrites, latibasa lts and mela latian desites and the second - le-ucile basanites , leucite t ephr ites and phonotephrites, latibasalts, melalatiandesites, quartz latiandes ites.

    The order of fo rmati on and the composit ion of both subvolcanic dike series s how t hat they are a r esult of homodromous differentiat ion of an in i t ial alkaline olivi ne-basalt magma with potash trend, more completely developped in the second series. The nearly analogous chemism and phenocomfosition of the corresponding members of bot h series suggests a two-fold intrusion of initi a a lkaline basalt magma and following differentiation in s imilar condi ti ons . The chemi cal features of the rocks from the secon d series, for which more data are available , in dica te th at the differen tiation developped from s trongl y unsa turated to sa turated an d s li ghtly oversa t urated with res pes t to Si02 rocks with para lle l decrease of Mg and Fe, gradua l increase of alkalis and decrease of the r a tio K20 / Na20. I n this r egime the lack of water-containing mi nerals in the late members of the dike series, in the presence of widespread amygdule structures, is a reason to s uggest t hat during crystalliza tion t he mag ma chamber was connected with the surface.
