Manage and maintain network performance to enable users to maximizeproductivity.

C. DUTIES AND SUCCESS INDICATOR:Please list the essential main duties and success indicator performing this job.

MAIN DUTIES SUCCESS INDICATOR

Install configurations and updates to the networkinfrastructure (switches, routers, servers, etc.)to

maintain connectivity throughout the network to alllocations.

Install, maintain, and update equipment, operatingsystems, upgrades, and patches.

Maintain the Citys intranet and internet connectionsand make recommendations regarding changesand/or improvements.

Administer and maintain the Citys e-mail system.

Troubleshoot networks, systems, and applications toidentify and correct malfunctions.

Configure, install, and maintain communicationshardware and software.

Analyze network utilization, availability, andfuture needs, and make recommendations tomanagement on technical modifications and/orenhancements to network facilities.

Provide and maintain written documentation of networkconfiguration and backup procedures.

Install and maintain firewall protection.

Implement and maintain password requirements fornetwork access.

Maintain user database by adding, deleting, orchanging user names as necessary.

Develop and maintain directory level security for

offices and other groups of network users to preventunauthorized access to data.

Assist users with questions and/or problems regardingavailable network resources.

Alter and configure network equipment to meetchanging user needs.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latesttechnology.

Perform related tasks as required.
