In your teams…

..produce a TV/radio bulletin of five stories.

Each member of the group is a reporter who needs to produce 1 report lasting 20 seconds. How many words in a second?Three! So your script should be how many words?60 words3 x news, 1 x sport and 1 x weather report.

1. Have an editorial meeting• pick stories to cover depending on which

audience you are targetting. • Examples: secondary school children; 20- to 30-year-olds; Newsround audience• Choose your stories; assign reporters to

each story.

• Your reports are safe and legal before you broadcast them.

• The school is responsible for the material published as part of School Report. Avoid crime stories and celebrity gossip.

• Use only first names of people below 18.• Check spelling and grammar.

Practise presenting

• Use your normal speaking voice, but speak slowly and clearly.

• Smile, it makes your voice sound friendly

• Pause between each news story

• Time each other – each report has to be 20 seconds

was it aimed at? Why do you think that? • What did you think of the stories chosen?
