Our staff are hoping this term sees some ‘normality’ return to teaching and learning. I’m sure, you like me, are watching very closely what is happening in other parts of our country in relation to the current pandemic. As a school, we ask parents to continue to only come into the school if needed. We also remind parents of the need to physical distance at all times. The last thing anyone wants is to return back to where we were in Term 2. We can all do our part to keep each other safe. As a school, we will continue to remind students to sanitise, implement additional cleaning to high touch areas and request that unwell students do not come to school. This week our school undertook a Full School Review conducted by the Education Improvement Branch. Our school received amazing feedback thanks to our positive and supportive school community. The full report will be available in the next few weeks. I will share the report once it is received. We certainly have a lot to celebrate. Thank you to our s chool community for getting behind the P&C ‘Essential Work Dress Up Day’. Our school raised close to $1000. The P&C has already purchased much needed sports equipment for the students to use at break times. We have been able to secure some additional funding to commence the external painting of some of the blocks. I’m looking forward to continuing to refine our school facilities to ensure our environment exudes high expectations and to allow the students to be proud of their school environment. Planning for this initiative is underway. Thank you to parents for ensuring your child is in full school uniform daily. I would appreciate you asking your child if they are in need of any additional stationery. All students are expected to be at school daily and on time unless they are unwell. I’m looking forward to continuing our partnerships in education. Scholastic Book Club: Brochures have been handed out to Students this week. Please ensure all orders are placed by Wednesday 29 July. ALL orders are to be placed online or paid by cheque. Please call in to see the library staff if you are having trouble logging onto the LOOP system. All books borrowed before the holidays are now overdue so please help us out by ensuring your children

remember to return them by Monday. ROBOT and Zero Hero awards will start up again next week! Year 1 and 2 will start a competition next week to see who will read the most library books in their respective classes. It has been lovely seeing some Prep students visit the library in the morning or at first break to change over

their books. Please encourage your child to return their library book as soon as they have finished reading it. We are starting to see some students reach their first reading goal of 20 books.

HAPPY CHAPPY WEEK!

Chappy Brekkies have also started up again (Tuesday-Friday), it is in a different format at the moment so we can keep everyone safe and healthy – we love being able to help support you as families in this way! Lastly just a reminder that I am here to provide support for students, staff and

families here at Burpengary State School so if there is anything I can do to help in regards to that please contact me either on [email protected] or through the school office on 07 3491 0333. We also have a lot of support from Hope Community Church, so please reach out to us if you are in need and we can help with hampers and vouchers.

See you Tuesday & Wednesday. Take care Chappy Katie Helping Hands

Welcome back everybody! We’ve had a busy couple of weeks at Helping Hands with Vacation Care finishing up last week. Over the vacation care period, the children enjoyed art, craft, sports and sensory activities, even holding their own dance rehearsals and performances. This week, the children have been managing well with settling back into the usual school routine. An increased amount of time spent down on the oval has been great, taking advantage of the warm sunlight in the mornings and

afternoons to participate in our outdoor program and Moovosity. If you would like to secure a spot or update an existing booking, please head to the online bookings via the parent portal or Kidsoft App. To ensure you have the bookings you need, please book in quickly, as some sessions are nearing our max capacity! Have a wonderful week, the team at Helping Hands Burpengary

Student Accident Insurance Some school activities and physical education, particularly contact sports, carry inherent risks of injury. Parents are advised that the Department of Education and Training does not have Student Accident Insurance cover for students. If your child is injured at school as a result of an accident or incident, all costs associated with the injury, including

medical costs, are the responsibility of the child, parent or caregiver. Some incidental medical costs may be covered by Medicare. If parents have private health insurance, some costs may also be covered through the private health insurance. Any other costs would be borne by the parents. Student Accident Insurance is an insurance policy that pays certain benefits in certain circumstances should your child have an accident. It is a personal decision for parents as to the types and levels of private insurance they

arrange to cover their child for any accidental injury that may occur. Parents should contact their insurer or an approved Australian insurance broker for more information about student personal accident insurance cover for their child.
