Hello Parents/ Guardians, It has been a very successful opening to the 2019-2020 school year! We are celebrating Marguerita’s attendance rate, which is above the district average and far above the state average. Thank you, Parents/Guardians, for your efforts to insure that your child has excellent attendance! We are committed to keeping a safe academic environment as the top priority. The Marguerita Safety Committee, composed of staff, parents and students, will meet regularly during the school year, led by Mrs. Wong. Administration recently reviewed our agreement with the developers of the Benito construction project. No construction vehicles and/or equipment will be active during our drop off times and our dismissal times, and all roads will remain open during these times. They have been informed of our daily schedules, calendars and are aware of all of our different types of days as well as school events. They are committed to putting safety first for our students, families, and staff. Please remember to follow the traffic laws and please do not interact with students from outside through our fences, including your own child. If you need to speak with your child during school hours, please go through the front office. Thank you. Playworks will continue on our campus this year, and we

have a new Playworks coach who will be actively working

with the students and staff one week per month. Mr. Kwan

Buchanan, Coach “K,” came to Playworks in 2016 and

enjoys building rapport and connecting with adults and kids

from all backgrounds. He hopes to leverage his experience

in bringing out the best in the students as well as staff

members he will have the opportunity to partner with.

Health Report Halloween is coming soon...here are a few safety tips that

CDC (2015) wants you to remember:

1. Fasten reflective tape to costumes. 2. Use crosswalks to avoid cars and walk on sidewalks

when possible. 3. Avoid eating homemade treats and check ingredients,

especially if you suffer from food allergies.

4. Go trick or treating with a trusted adult...NEVER go alone!

5. Have lots of FUN!

A.S.B. The Associated Student Body and Student Council members are happy to be serving the Marguerita School community this school year. Our council includes President: Eva Lay, VP: Kyle Kim, Sec: Shirley Chen, Treasurer: Ellen Lay, Girls’ Commissioner: Kaylie Lam, and Boys’ Commissioner: Xavier Juarez. We have many fun school activities and spirit days planned. Another current event is our school-wide t-shirt sale. These clothing items can be worn any day in place of a uniform shirt and are a great way to show school spirit. Important Dates: *Twin day on 10/4/19 *Halloween Grams will be sold 10/21/19-10/25/19 for $1 *Grams delivered to classrooms on 10/30/19

學生會的成員很高興在本學年為Marguerita學校社區提

供服務。 我們的理事會包括: 主席Eva Lay, 副主席Kyle

Kim, 秘書Shirley Chen, 財政Ellen Lay, 女專員Kaylie Lam,

男專員Xavier Juarez。 我們計劃了許多有趣的學校活動
