CORPUS CHRISTI CATHOLIC SCHOOL 1 6 August 2015 NEWSLETTER Number 13 From the Principal… Rachel Kelly Acting Principal Dear Parents/Guardians, I hope you have all stayed rugged up in your winter woollies and enjoyed our beautiful snow which has swept across the city over the last few days. Great photo Mr V.L! Like many of you, I spent several hours over the weekend watching my children play team sports. Watching our children develop skills, confidence, resilience and friendships on the sporting field is heart warming and even a little heart breaking at times. Over the past few weeks our nation has been exposed to the “ugly” side of sport with the Adam Goodes “booing saga”. As a community, such events provide us with the opportunity to be true to our values and challenge our children to treat others as they themselves would like to be treated, truly walking in the footsteps of Jesus. "Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me." Matthew 25: 40 100 Days of School Last week our Prep and Grade 1 students celebrated 100 days of school. This is a significant milestone, a wonderful celebration of growing and learning together. Many and varied “100” collections were brought into school including 100 helium balloons, 100 footy cards and even 100 toothpaste blobs! Awesome work Prep and Grade 1

NEWSLETTER Number 13 From the Principal… Rachel Kelly Acting Principal Dear Parents/Guardians, I hope you have all stayed rugged up in your winter woollies and enjoyed our beautiful snow which has swept across the city over the last few days.

As a community, such events provide us with the opportunity to be true to our values and challenge our children to treat others as they themselves would like to be treated, truly walking in the footsteps of Jesus.

family, you did it to me." Matthew 25: 40

Quiz Night The P&F have been hard at work organising what is shaping up to be the social event of the year this coming Saturday night. We are extremely fortunate at Corpus Christi to have such a committed group of volunteers whose fundraising and social initiatives enhance our school community. No doubt one of the highlights will be the “host with the most” Mr Lane in action! Family Life The Family Life Program will be facilitated by Catholic Care for Grade 2, Grade 4 and Grade 6 students in the week starting Monday 17 August. Bridget Tape from Catholic Care will be facilitating a Parent Information Session for parents from these grades on Monday 10 August at 7:00pm in the Library. This session is for parents only (not children) and will provide a snapshot of classroom content and the opportunity to ask and answer questions. If you are planning on coming along to the Parent Session could you please email an RSVP to the school office at [email protected] so we can set up accordingly. Many thanks to those parents who have already done so.
