Newsletter Week 2, Term 4 International Teachers Day Today marks International Teachers Day around the world. I would like to acknowledge the outstanding work of our teachers at Paterson Public School. I love the way that every teacher knows and values every student and they give so much of their time and energy to build and maintain relationships with our kids and our families. We are very lucky to have such a motivated, caring, and skilled group working at our school. Thank you teachers.
Kindergarten Orientation We very much enjoyed meeting our 2019 kindergarten students and their families on Tuesday this week. We had sixteen lovely children who were very excited about their first visit to ‘big’ school. I think our big buddies were just as excited, they did a wonderful job of making their new friend’s feel welcome and relaxed. Next week and the week after the children will visit the kindergarten classroom again. It’s not too late to join our orientation program so if you know of anyone in our area who has a kindergarten child starting next year please ask them to call the office as soon as possible. If you are not sure whether your child is ready to start school next year, they are very welcome to attend the next two sessions as a trial.
Medical Information Updates Please ensure that any change in a medical condition for your child is communicated to the school as soon as possible. Remember that asthma management plans must be updated annually with your GP and provided to the school.
Grandparents Day Don’t forget that our grandparents day is coming up on Friday, 2nd November. Looking forward to seeing you there.
Gymnastics Program From weeks 4-7, our school will run a gymnastics program run by professionally trained instructors (Gym Matrix) during Friday sport time. There will be no cost to students for this program as it is funded through a school sports grant.
Road Safety Please remember that children will take their cues from your behaviour rather than what you say. When you cross the road in front of our school, make sure that you do so within the crossing boundaries so that our students see you modelling safe behaviour.
With thanks, Sarah-Jane Hazell
