After the Carols parents can take their children home or have dinner with their children at Pacific Gardens. A return slip will be sent out to parents for this event. GRADUATION 2017: On the last day of school we have a graduation ceremony for the years. Foundation to year 1 Year 3 entering the Senior school to be in year 4 Goodbye to the years 8/9 TUITION FEES 2018: Since the start of the Australian International School PNG in Feb 2016, the school has made considerable investments in its facilities. Overall operational costs have increased due to an annual increase in our EQI licensing fees (to be paid in AUD) and the school sources most of its materials out of Australia. With a depreciating Kina against the dollar this has been a very challenging financial situation. The school will again strive to cover most of the increasing costs via an increase in the total number of enrollments. An initiative to make this happen is offering an Early Learning class as per 2018. The school has not increased fees in the last 3 years. Considering the increasing costs over this period we unfortunately have to make some changes in the school fees. We have tried to keep these changes to a minimum and the changes are in the form of a re-structure rather than a % fee increase: Years 1-3 & Year 7 and 8 fees will remain the same. Years 4-6 will now be categorized as senior years. The Early learners (incl 2017 ‘Kindy’) will see a reduction in fees: FEE SCHEDULE PER 2018 Juniors Years -Early Learning (3-4yrs) PGK 2,200.00 Middle Years -Foundation to Year 3 PGK 3,960.00 Seniors Years -Year 4 to Year 8. PGK 4,180.00 SPORTS UPDATE: This Friday the 10th we will be going down to NSI again for the sports practices. For parents who live around the West area you can drop off your children at NSI rather than coming here. I will have one of the teachers waiting at NSI for them. I would like to ask for volunteer parents to help transport students down to NSI. If you are able to help please let me know. I have also rescheduled sports for next week Friday the 17 th to be on Monday the 13 th as I prefer to be present when students are at NSI and I will be in Brisbane on the 17 th with the seniors. For the sports carnival, field events will take place on the Thursday the 23 rd of November and Track events on the Friday the 24 th of November. Presentations of the winning team and Sports boy and girl for the year will be presented after the track events. I will need parent volunteers to be the marshals and scorers for the day. If you think you can volunteer for the day please come and see me. HOSPITAL VISIT: Again, keeping the AIS tradition, on Thursday the 30th of November, teachers and selected students will visit the children’s ward to give gifts and put a smile on these children’s faces. In co-ordination with this event the SRC has organized for a bring and buy this Friday the 10 th of November. A consent form has been sent out for parents. Please have these forms completed and returned tomorrow. If you have old clothing items or toys you would like to donate to these children please come and drop them off at school. Consent forms will be sent out closer to date for this trip to the hospital. Thanks Michelle
