The Ideal English Teacher
1
The ideal English teacher must
have a perfect blend of
characteristics. For example, the
teacher must make use of a variety
of resources. Like using technology
and an array of books, not just one.
They must also use many activities
to keep the class dynamic. An ideal
English teacher must also have a
quintessential personality. For
instance, the teacher must be kind
and approachable making sure that
the students are comfortable in
class and talking to them about
2
anything they need. They must also
be flexible, realizing that not
everything is under their control
and things may change or be
adjusted. They must also be funny
and relaxed because a relaxed,
easy-going teacher means a
smooth-sailing class. It is not
enough to be prepared and have the
right personality. The ideal teacher
must also have a vast knowledge of
the language. Another
exemplification is knowing not just
about your subject but about others
3
that pertain to yours. The teacher
must know about tools and tips that
can help the students to learn
better. The teacher must also be
able to answer questions that
students have or at least be able to
find the answer and provide it later.
The ideal English teacher must
have the best possible combination
of characteristics to provide their
students with the finest English
education.

Lost in NYC While visiting some friends in
New York City a couple of years ago, I had an adventure I will never forget. One night I decided I wanted to go see a musical on Broadway. None of my friends could join me so I decided to go alone. It was the last show of the night so it ended really late. When I got out I was extremely excited and happy because the play changed my life. I was feeling overwhelmed with excitement and didn’t notice that late at night the subway system changes routes. I got on the train that I thought would take me back to my friends apartment. I sat on the train with my eyes closed feeling my heart pounding in my chest and remembering all the songs I had just heard. I was so distracted that I didn’t hear the names of the stops and how different they were from the ones I was used to hearing. When I got to the right stop, or so I thought, I got off the train and walked up to street level. I instantly knew I was in the wrong neighborhood. My palms began to sweat and my knees to shake. I relied on my keen sense of direction and began to walk quickly, constantly looking over my shoulder. After twenty-something blocks I arrived at my friends apartment to find her very worried. I leared that I need to be more careful and aware when travelling alone in a strange city.

My grandfather left me one of his most prized possessions, a top hat he bought as a young man in New York City. This hat has a large value, both emotional and economic. He bought it at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City, a very high-class store that still exists. The fact that he left it to me means a lot to me because it shows me that he thought that I would like it and he was right. It is very old but in pristine shape, having been kept in its original box with its original wrapping paper this entire time. It is covered in black horsehair making it glisten in the sunlight. It has a silk ribbon that goes all around it. It comes with a suede pillos to brush the hair so that it stays smooth. It has my grandfather’s initials in it and still smells like him. In the bos you will also find a pair of leather gloves and a pair of shoe covers for when he rode horses. Since it was given to me in such great
2
condition, I have vowed to keep it that way; I keep it in my room and don’t let anybody use it or touch it with dirty hands. Every once in a while I take it out and brush it so that it stays smooth and silky. When my grandfather was alive I wasn’t very close to him because he wasn’t a very emotion showing person, he kept to himself a lot. However, deep down I knew that he cared about me and this gift proves that to me. His health deteriorated for many years leading up to his passing, and my father told me that he made his will before he got too bad. I always ask my father about how he was when he was young and my father says that he was always a very classy gentleman. I can almost imagine him walking down Fifth Avenue. Having been to New York City many times and walked the same streets he walked as a young man makes me feel very connected to him.

EDUCATION RESOURCES It seems that it is becoming harder and harder to find reliable
resources that parents and teachers alike can use to find the best answers
for the childrens’ problems. A great resource that can help students, parents
and teachers is a New York City based blog called Noodle. Noodle relies
on experts opinions as to what the best decisions regarding education are.

How to Properly Write a Paragraph When writing a paragraph the most important thing to remember is that your paragraph must be
coherent, organized and complete. The first step when writing a paragraph is to determine what kind of
paragraph you want to write and what topic its going to be about. Once you know what kind of paragraph
you want to create you must know how it is organized. This means what structure it follows, for the most
part paragraphs begin with a topic sentence, followed by three or more supporting sentences, each with
three or more sentences providing extra information and it ends with a concluding sentence. Then you need
to determine what you’re going to write about, the topic will depend on what type of paragraph you want to
write and what you want to convey across to your readers. The second step is to brainstorm your idea and
create an outline. The brainstorm stage includes both verbal and written brainstorming. Then you need to
write down everything you think of regarding your topic. When creating your outline it is important to note
that this is just a rough draft so everything doesn’t have to be perfect and you can add or remove things
later. Determine what your topic sentence and your supporting ideas are going to be. The concluding
sentence must restate your topic sentence but in a different way, it must close your paragraph in the
appropriate manner. The last step is to write out your paragraph according to your outline and to revise it
once or twice to make sure you don’t have any mistakes or you don’t want to add or remove anything. This
step is the longest and most important, but the most rewarding. You must first write a rough draft, not
worrying about mistakes or adding or removing parts you don’t like. Then you must write a final draft, after
correcting all the flaws. When writing a paragraph it is important to remember to maintain the structure and
the meaning of the paragraph throughout.

How has Apple Inc. maintained such a loyal fanbase? –a reader comments.
All of my electronics are of the Apple brand because I am loyal to a
company that has never failed me. I have always bought Apple products because
none of them have broken down despite having them for many years. For example, I
still have my original iPod shuffle from when I was a kid. My first laptop was given
to me in tenth grade and I still have it and use it everyday, seven years later. I have
added on an iPod touch, and iPad and an iPhone, because I trust the brand. Some
people say that Apple’s biggest competitor, Samsung, is better. However, I have used
a Samsung phone because my iPhone was stolen and it is not the same. First of all,
Samsung claims to be user friendly but I found it to be a lot more complicated to do
the same action. My mom had used the phone for just a year before I inherited it and
it was constantly breaking down. The same goes for using other brands of computers.
For instance, I have heard from many people that Windows 8 is really complicated to
use. People also say that Apple products are too expensive. In my experience, Apple
has been more reliable than other products making it more of an investment, a higher
price but it lasts longer. The difference in price is not that big considering the
convenience of having all of your electronics be compatible. I have remained loyal to
Apple products because of their reliability and convenience.
