When you visit Niagara Falls, you’re struck by the wonder of it all. Where in the world does the water come from? And where does it go? How high are the Falls, how wide, how deep? How much water rushes over the mighty cataracts, minute-by-minute, hour-by-hour, day-by-day, and season-by-season?

You’ll be fascinated to discover the answers to these questions, and more because Niagara Falls continues non-stop, just like the adventures that await year-round. You’ll fall for Niagara in all seasons – winter, spring, summer and autumn. Your journey begins with the rushing waters the Native North Americans called “Onguiaahra” or “Thundering Waters.”

Its breathtaking views are highlighted by misty magic and sun streaked rainbows that arch over the Niagara Gorge during the daytime, and illuminated after dark by powerful spotlights that pierce the night. Both visuals offer a different perspective on the natural wonder you believe you have come to know. Seeing the sights and the lights of the magnificent Falls is only the beginning. There is so much to experience in Niagara, it is naturally ‘One Wonder After Another’.

a hint of HISTORYAn excursion to Niagara Falls offers more than you could imagine. Niagara Falls has often been called “the world’s most famous address.” While the Falls is certainly our most visited natural attraction, the rest of Niagara is a rich, varied, and rewarding experience, too. Niagara Falls, and the surrounding Niagara Region, have evolved and grown into one of the world’s foremost travel destinations. Millions of visitors a year agree!

Niagara’s fascinating history and rich, cultural heritage is the foundation for many interesting discoveries today. Our past sets the tone for our present, and you will find many places to see and things to do.

Niagara’s past will keep a history buff captivated. There are archeological remnants of the people who lived in the Niagara area thousands of years ago. villages from the ancient Iroquois culture reveal an agricultural subsistence, a relationship with the land that even now characterizes much of Niagara.

European explorers and missionaries arrived in the New World at the beginning of the 17th century, but did not make their homes here until the War of 1812. This was a turning point in our history, when the fledgling United States army fought British Loyalists who fled America for the new lands that would become Canada. Niagara’s historic sites, battlefields, museums and military re-creations are a memorable journey into the past.

History in Niagara is present for anyone who looks with an appreciative eye to times gone by.

Remember those fun filled car rides you used to take with your family to Niagara Falls? Driving by those sprawling acres of fruit trees and carefully groomed vineyards, followed by unforgettable views of the world-famous landmarks, and topping it off by letting loose on Clifton Hill.

Today, Niagara attracts millions of visitors annually, showcasing its unique offerings of attractions, golf courses and world-class wineries. Central to Niagara’s appeal is the Pen Centre. Since its opening in 1958, the Pen Centre has evolved into Niagara’s premier shopping destination.

Centrally located in St. Catharines on Highway 406 at Glendale Ave., just 20 minutes from Niagara Falls, Niagara-on-the-Lake and many other popular cities and attractions, the Pen Centre is a community hub brimming with exciting retailers, restaurants, and entertainment. It is an urban marketplace, featuring 1 million square feet of shopping with 180 of the most celebrated brands from across North America and Europe.

Recently having embarked on a massive $13 million renovation, the sleek new shopping centre now features plenty of soft seating throughout and most importantly a bright, comfortable and welcoming new Food Court with many delectable offerings. The complete renovation presents a contemporary shopping experience that addresses Niagara’s sophisticated consumer.
