"Music and Polics: Blues, Jazz, and Rock" (HON 2030, Secon 1, TTh

11am, Prof. Eric Lapin). These disnctly American genres of music

evolved in the context of important polical developments, such as

the "Jim Crow" era and the Civil Rights movement. Prof. Lapin pro-

    Literature Arts and Humanies requirement).

"The 2016 Elecons" (HON 2200, Secon 1, TTh 12:30pm, Prof. Je

Fine). This year's elecon is already one of the most fascinang in

decades. Award-winning Prof. Je Fine will keep up with whatever

happens in the Fall, in a course blending day-to-day events with de-

tailed analysis from the eld of polical science (fullls Social Science

    requirement).

"Essays that Change Minds (HON 2200, Secon 2, MWF 11:15am,

Prof. Colin Pearce). For centuries, the essay has served as a medium

for observaon, contemplaon, and persuasion. Join Prof. Pearce in

reading some of the most important examples of this art form, from

the classic to the modern (fullls Social Science requirement).
