Summer Intern-ship Interviews for MBA Students:
M/s AVIVA Life Insurance Company
India Ltd. conducted interviews of MBA,
II Semester students for Summer Intern-
ship, on 7thApril, 2010. A pre-placement
presentation was given by Mr.Yogesh
Chandra Awasthi, Manager-Business
Support. Interviews were conducted by
Sh.Vineet Nagpal,
Sh.Yogesh Chandra Awasthi.
Dy.Manager, Strategic Recruitment unit and Sh.Yogesh Chandra Awasthi.
As a result of interviews, full batch of MBA students was short-listed for
appointment as Project-Trainees.
MBA students of SGI visited the works of M/s Indo-
Asian Fuse Gear Ltd., Murthal on 3rdApril, 2010.
Students and faculty members were received by Head,
HR. Head, HR then briefed the students about the
Organizational Structure, Products and future
Business-plans of the company.
Students were then taken round in all the Departments
i.e Receipt & Inspection, Production Shops, Assembly,
Testing & Packing. Students took interest in all the
operations and clarified their doubts about various

M/s Metlife India Insurance Co. Ltd.,Delhi conducted interviews for our MBA-II
semester students on 22ndApril, 2010 at SGI campus. Programme was conducted by
Sh.Nikhil Kak and Sh.Ankit Nigam of Metlife.
Handing over of Appointment offer and Training session by M/s
Aviva Life Insurance Company India Ltd., for MBA students:
Sh.Yogesh Chandra Awasthi, Manager Business Support and Sh.Vineet Nagpal,
Dy.Manager Strategic Unit visited SGI on 23rdApril, 2010 to handover appointment
offers to our MBA students. Sh. Yogesh Chandra then conducted a very interactive
training session for the students.

aspects of Insurance industry by
Sh.Nikhil Kak. Interviews were
conducted jointly by Sh.Kak &
Sh.Nigam. Both of them were very
much impressed by the performance of
of the students and as a result complete batch of MBA students was short-listed for
the role of Summer trainees.
Cultural Show at SGI:
SGI organized a cultural programme at its campus on 8thApril, 2010. It was a
follow up of the establishment of chapter of ‘SPICMACAY’ for promotion of Indian
Classical Music among Indian Youth.
It was followed by an excellent heart-touching and soothing performance by Ustad
Danish Aslam Khan who was accompanied by Ustad Nawab Ali on ‘Tabla’.

Ustad Danish Aslam Khan then gave a
lecture on the basics of Indian Classical
Music and highlighted the contribution
of Top Indian Musicians. Theme of the
day was ‘Sarod’. Ustad briefed students
about the history of ‘Sarod’ along with
Ustad Nawab Ali then briefed
students about the famous Indian
musical Instument Tabla and its
working. Both the ‘Ustads’ then
answered various questions raised by
faculty and students.

honoured both the ‘Ustads’ by
presenting Shawls and gifts in
the techniques of playing ‘Sarod’.

SGI Celebrates National Technology Day:
National Technology Day was celebrated at SGI on 11thMay, 2010. Programme
started with an introduction about Technology Day by Dr.Rajesh Goel, Director
SGI. It was followed by an exhaustive presentation by Prof.HL Chhatwal, formerly

Seminar on 'Career prospection in IT Sector in current Economic
Scenario':
The Session was very interactive and Sh.Chander answered many important
questions raised by the students. In addition to Mr.Chander, Ms.Nidhi Khanna from
aptech was also present.
On this occasion, Dr.Rajesh Goel, Director SGI, Mrs.Sarita Goel, Member
Executive, Prof.HL Chhatwal, Dean Management, all faculty members and students
from all streams were present.
Scientist 'G' of Defence Research &
Development Organization and currently
Dean, Management at SGI. Prof.Chhatwal in
his presentation gave the details of Pokhran 'I'
and Pokhran 'II' wherein India exploded three
Nuclear Devices on 11thMay, 1998, which
turned India into a Nuclear Power. Prof.
Chhatwal paid tributes to untiring efforts of
Late Dr.Raja Ramana, Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam,
Dr.Chidambaram and many others to achieve
this dream. He also complemented Political
leadership of Late Mrs.Indira Gandhi and Sh.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee who gave an opportunity
to Scientists and Engineers of India to proove
their Competence.
A Seminar on 'Career prospection in IT Sector'
was held at SGI on 11thMay, 2010. An inspiring
presentation on the theme was made by
Sh.Vipin Chander, Dy.Manager 'Aptech'. Sh.
Chander told students about the emerging
global and National opportunities in the area of
Information Technology.
Summer-internship interviews for MBA Students
M/s Unicon Investment Solutions, Delhi held interviews at SGI Campus on
12thmay, 2010 for MBA-II semester students. Mr.Sachin Shekhar Business Head
and Ms. Alka Shrivastava, Sales Manager from unicon conducted the interviews.
The event started with a presentation by Mr.Shekhar on the various aspects of
financial services being provided by M/s Unicon. It was followed by an interactive
session clarifying the question raised by the students.
After the interviews 100% of our MBA students who appeared in the interview
were short-listed. SGI students joining Intern-ship programme shall be getting a
handsome stipend.
