When are Parenthetical Citations Needed?

– after an original idea from a source (paraphrase)– after exact wording copied from a source (quote)– after a summary of ideas in a source– after factual information that is not common

***Common factual information that one might find in an almanac, fact book, or dictionary need not be cited.
