Why should we pay for a CouchSurfing weekend ?It will be a whole weekend in an area big enough to welcome several persons. We rent/privatize an eco-place as well as equipments.We also take in charge the bread, the breakfasts, the Saturday night dinner and of course many other little things to spend a nice weekend!Everything is counted and negotiated in order to obtain a price as low as possible.

Why opting for an online ticketing system?The aim is to have a treasury before the weekend of the event (for deposits, orders…) but also to foresee as much as possible a precise budget and to count up the exact number of attendants.

Why not suggesting a daily pass ?It is constraining to have to differentiate the ones who will only come for a day and the ones who will come for the whole weekend. Moreover, we do not wish to multiply the number of different types of tickets. On the previous editions, very few people came only for a day.

The place changes every year, why ?It is a will to make you discover every year a different place, but we also try to find areas that we particularly like, that reflect our own personality.Of course, there are places we would like to go back but it is also good to discover new spots in the region!

How will be the next NSC5 place?It is a typical Norman farm, an eco-place in a magical surrounding, in the heart of nature, lost in the middle of the countryside and with a 15ha game ground. 3 solutions of accommodation are suggested, of what being satisfied for each of you!

Why is there a limited number of attendants ?Even if the area is very large, we wish to preserve the NSC spirit : a friendly weekend, where it is possible to chat with each of the attendants and a reasonable number of persons for the weekend. The NSC is a bit like a great family party! For now, we expect a maximum of 80 persons.

Canavache ? Who’s that ??How do you dare asking this question ? Canavache is the mascot of the Lower-Normandy CouchSurfing group. She is a cow with a couch shape who travelled around the world and who loves to welcome and make discover her region. For the NSC 5th anniversary, she will also be invited for the weekend.

This year theme ?Since the second edition, we ask you to enjoy the Saturday evening party with a specific theme. This year, it will be super-heroes, comics and cartoons! So, jump on your costumes and we hope to see many super-heroes or Casimir over there!

I prefer to pay with another means than online, is it possible ?Yes! You can pay by French bank check or paypal(info by e-mail: julien@djweb.fr). Prices are the same than those from the online system. You will have to inform us about your last name, first name, age, town, e-mail. An identical ticket to the one on the online automatic system will be sent to you!

A « participative weekend », what is that ?Even if the weekend event is mainly organised, we of course need help from each of you to prepare the meals, empty the garbage bins, or to take care of the fire camp. As many as few tasks which will enable us to also enjoy the weekend!

In case of bad weather, will the NSC5 be maintain?Yes! As a precaution, we rent facilities that are big enough to keep going indoor.

What should we think up and bring ?A sleeping bag, and according to your accommodation mean choice a mattress and a camp tent.Few drinks to share.A dish to share (usually as soon as for the Friday night). A kitchen is at your disposal if needed.Your fancy costume for Saturday evening.Hiking shoes and a warm sweater if the night is cold.Games, musical instruments and your happiness!

Is it possible to have a refund if I cancel my ticket ?Till the 1st of July it is possible to obtain a refund (minus the ticketing fee of 1€) on simple demand by e-mail: julien@djweb.fr.Afterwards, it won’t be possible to receive a refund because we have a budget that we will have to respect in order to avoid to lose money for the weekend event.

Will it be possible to have a T-shirt such as in 2012 ?Yes. A Pass + T-shirt + ecocup (Pinte) package will be available according to availability.

An « eco-meeting », what is that ?The Lower-Norman group is the first one who opted for ecocup glasses. To keep going with this approach, we maximize our purchases with local products for the weekend (meat, bread, frexh products…).The lighting will be partly made with LED technology. We will make you sensitive to water use, selective sorting and we will insist on the utility of carpooling!

Needs of help to organise the weekend event ?If you wish to help us in organising the weekend event, you are more than welcome! A weekend with a good meal and the discovery of the event area will be held in spring. Thereafter, on the D- day (Friday), you can help us to bring equipment on site and to install few decorations and signage.

Pourquoi payer pour un week-end CouchSurfing ?Il s’agit d’un week-end dans un domaine suffisamment grand pour accueillir plusieurs personnes. Nous louons/privatisons un éco-domaine ainsi que du matériel.On se charge également de commander le pain, de fournir les petits déjeuners, le repas du samedi soir et évidemment plein d’autres petites choses pour passer un beau week-end !Tout est comptabilisé et négocié afin de proposer un prix le plus bas possible.

Pourquoi opter pour un système de billetterie en ligne ?Le but et d’avoir une trésorerie en amont du week-end (pour les accomptes, les commandes...) mais aussi de prévoir un budget plus précis et de comptabiliser le nombre exact des participants.

Pourquoi ne pas proposer un billet “journée” ?C’est contraignant de devoir différencier les personnes qui viennent seulement une journée de ceux qui seront présentes tout le week-end et nous ne souhaitons pas multiplier également les types de ticket. Les précédentes éditions, très peu de personnes ne sont venus que sur une journée.

Le lieu change chaque année, pourquoi ?C’est une volonté de faire découvrir chaque année un endroit différent, mais on fait aussi en sorte de trouver des endroits que l’on aime particulièrement, à notre image.Evidemment, il y a des endroits pour lesquels nous aimerions revenir mais c’est bien aussi de “découvrir du pays” !

Comment sera le prochain lieu du NSC5 ?C’est un corps de ferme typique de la Normandie, un éco domaine dans un cadre magique, au coeur de la nature, perdu dans la campagne et avec une surface de terrain de jeu d’environ 15ha.3 solutions d’hébergement seront proposés, de quoi satisfaire chacun d’entre-vous !

Pourquoi est-ce limité en terme d’accueil ?Même si l’espace est très grand, on souhaite conserver l’âme du NSC : un week-end convivial, ou il est possible de discuter avec chacun des participants et un week-end à taille humaine. Le NSC, c’est un peu comme une belle fête de famille ! Pour le moment, nous avons prévu un maximum de 80 personnes.

Canavache ? C’est qui ??Comment ose-tu te poser encore cette question ? Canavache est la mascotte du groupe CouchSurfing de Basse-Normandie. Une vache en forme de canapé qui a fait le tour du monde et qui adore accueillir et faire découvrir sa région. Pour les 5 ans du NSC, elle sera évidemment elle aussi conviée au week-end !

Le thème de cette année ?Depuis la seconde édition, le NSC vous demande de participer à la soirée du samedi avec un thème précis. Cette année, ce sera les supers-héros, les dessins animés et la BD ! Alors tous à vos déguisements on espère voir beaucoup de supers héros ou de casimir chez nous !

Un “week-end participatif”, c’est quoi ?Même si le week-end est en grande partie organisé, on a évidemment besoin de l’aide de chacun pour préparer les repas, vider les poubelles, ou s’occuper du feu de camp. Autant de petites tâches qui nous per-mettrons nous aussi de profiter du week-end !

En cas de mauvais temps, le NSC5 est-il maintenu ?Oui ! Par précaution, nous avons loué des structures suffisamment grandes afin de continuer les festivités.

Que faut il prévoir et emmener ?Un sac de couchage, et en fonction du choix de l’hébergement un matelas et une tente de camping.Quelques boissons à partager.Un plat à partager (généralement dès le vendredi soir). Une cuisine est à disposition si besoin.Votre costume pour la soirée du samedi.Des chaussures de rando, une bonne polaire si la nuit est froide.Des jeux, des instruments de musique et votre bonne humeur !!

Est-ce possible d’annuler mon billet ?Jusqu’au 1er juillet oui (sauf frais de la billetterie d’environ 1€). Sur simple demande par mail : julien@djweb.fr.Mais nous ne pouvons pas rembourser les tickets au dernier moment, nous avons un budget et nous essayons de nous y tenir pour éviter de faire un week-end avec un déficit.

Sera t’il possible d’avoir un T-Shirt comme en 2012 ?Oui. Un pack Pass+T-Shirt et Ecocup (Pinte), sera disponible, sous réserve de disponibilité.

Un “éco-meeting”, c’est quoi ?Le groupe Bas Normand est le premier a avoir opté pour des gobelets écocup. Pour poursuivre cette démarche, nous achetons au maximum les produits du week-end en local (viande, pain, produits frais...).L’éclairage sera en partie led, nous vous sensibiliserons sur l’usage de l’eau, le tri sélectif et on insistera bien sur l’utilité de faire du covoiturage !

Besoin d’aide pour organiser le week-end ?Si vous souhaitez nous aider à organiser le week-end, vous êtes les bienvenus ! Un week-end autour d’un bon repas et de la découverte des lieux aura lieu au printemps. Ensuite, il s’agit le jour j (vendredi), de nous aider pour emmener du matériel sur place et à installer quelques décorations et de la signalétique.
