*Where are we now…

*All 3 of our buildings, GF, PL, and MS did indicate that we would like to participate in Computer Based Field Testing in the Spring of 2016.

*One subject at each building

*One grade, or possibly 2 adjacent grades

*Sessions are 40 minutes

*May 31 – Jun 10, 2016

*Lap-tops, Chromebooks, tablets, and PCs can be used (research shows that students perform similar across all of these devices)

*Students on

Castle…

*Remember, students can log on to Castle and create their own study sessions, practice old Regents questions, make up flash cards, etc. themselves (even if a teacher hasn’t assigned them something)

*How do we make sure students know about this?

*Questions remaining…

*Will Regents exams become CB assessments?*There’s been no indication or announcement of this, but it’s possible.

*It’s more than just state testing-

*Computer Based Testing and Keyboarding are examples of 21st Century Skills

*Students need knowledge that you each teach in your disciplines. THEY ALSO NEED THE SKILLS NECESSARY TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE REAL WORLD!

*Being confident and comfortable using computers and taking assessments on the computer are necessary in life:*Driver’s License*Certification Exams*College Courses*Potentially Civil Service Exams
