U13 Football This past week saw the u-13s P1 footballers welcome Fermoy to the Bleach. This was a repeat on last year’s fixture as it was the first game back for our P1s after the summer break. And no different to last year Fermoy lined out an extremely well coached team. It was a close game from start to finish with Valley Rovers just holding on to a one point lead to take the victory at the end. Final Score: Valley Rovers 3-8 Fermoy 3-7. Next up is the premier 1s V Ballincollig Monday 27th in Brinny. The under-13 mentor group would like to wish all the lads who started 1st year in the various schools the very best of luck.
U8 Hurling Blitz Last Saturday the under 8 boys were joined by seven of
the under 7 group, to play in a hurling blitz in Bandon.
All the lads played really well in games against Kinsale,
Courceys, Newcestown & hosts Bandon. They were also
keen to show their support for Valley Rovers Chris O’
Leary ahead of the all Ireland Under 21 hurling final.
Well done to the Valley Rovers players
who raised 700 Euros for the Irish
Cancer society recently.

Valley Rovers had 4 players in action for Cork over the
past weekend;
U14 Hurling - Jonathon O’Leary. Well done to
Jonathon who played with the Cork U14 Division 2
squad & won the Sonny Walsh Cup in Walsh Park on
Saturday last. Jonathon played wing back & featured in
games against Kerry, Galway, Clare & Tipperary in the
Final.
U15 Hurling - Jonathan Kenneally & Conor Callanan.
Well done to Jonathon who played with the Cork U15
‘A’ squad in the Arrabawn All Ireland tournament in
Tipperary. Cork A played Clare in the Cup semi finals
where they unfortunately lost out 3-20 to 1-11.
Conor played with the 'B' Squad & played Galway in
the Cup semi final of the tier 2 competition, which they
won to go on & play in the cup final against Tipperary.
Cork won the final on a scoreline of Tipperary 1-6 Cork
2-15. Well done to Conor & Jonathon.
U21 Hurling – Chris O’Leary. Hard luck to Chris who
was part of the Cork panel that lost the all-Ireland
U21 Final to Tipperary on Sunday last. Cork were
bidding to win a title they hadn’t done so for the past
20 years but unfortunately it wasn’t to be on the
day. Well done to Chris on his contribution to Cork
hurling over the past year & best wishes for 2019.
