Research and tutorials- Searching and reading info from links, forums and books.
- Testing and practicing tutorials from books and from the internet.
- Experiencing bugs and errors, getting to know the unreal-community.
- Collecting pictures and references from the real Nyksund.
- Collecting textures needed for my environment.
- Drawing sketches and designing mockup in 3D.
Modeling in Maya 7- Modeling my buildings and objects in Maya 7.
- Learning the demands and rules for exporting to the Unreal Editor 3.
- UV-mapping my models for export to the Unreal Editor 3.
Learning the Unreal Editor 3- Learning how to import static meshes.
- Learning how to use lights and how to create skyboxes.
- Learning how to create terrain and how to use the terrain-editor tools.
Compiling and building- When I felt safe with the pipeline of the Unreal Editor 3 I started to
build and develop my Nyksund environment.
- Learning how UVs that looks fine in Maya 7 not always works in the Unreal Editor 3. The same goes for triangulated models.
Tweaking and testing- A lot of testing and tweaking before i was somewhat satisfied with
my environment.
- Ideas for what could have been done better and what needs to be fixed before wrapping the project up.
