2014-2015 Telfair Wheeler Youth Leadership Program
The Telfair County Chamber of Commerce will again host the Telfair-Wheeler Youth Leadership Program
This program is designed to prepare our youth for the leadership roles that we need them to assume in the coming years. We need to educate our youth on the needs that our community faces every day. The best way to do this is to let them view these needs on a personal level and learn first-hand the challenges faced by Telfair and Wheeler Counties each day.
We are excited that Joe Elton, who works for the City of McRae, will again be the instructor for this program. He has done an outstanding job in the past working with the youth.
The program will consist of several areas such as Public Health, Public Safety, Media Sources, Historical Significance and Agri-Tourism. Students will also be involved in class projects.
The infrastructure that needs to be developed, in order for business, trade, industry and tourism to come to us, not only involves brick and mortar it also involves tomorrow’s leaders. By exposing our youth to today’s challenges, we are educating and preparing them to be better developed/educated people able to accomplish needed goals.
I am asking you to help us do this by volunteering when you are asked to speak or participate in some way in a program and I am also asking for financial help. Your financial support is needed for transportation, materials and food.
There are five sponsorship levels: $1000- Treasure $750- Training $500- Testimony $250- Teamwork $100- Title
Sponsorship forms can be requested by email: [email protected] or downloaded from www.telfairco.org under Programs.

Day of Grace-Inspirational Day
October 6, 2014
We cannot know how far the ripples travel as we impact the life of another.
May our impact be one of inspiration and kindness.
On October 6, send one purple rose to the person or persons who have inspired you the most, letting them know of the difference they have made in your life.
It is recommended that you place your order, at the florist of your choice, before October 6, 2014.
