Hello Southwest District,
My name is Eli Barnett and I was appointed as your new District Secretary-Treasurer last week. I am currently a senior at Marana High School. My free time is spent running (yes I love to run), working at Starbucks and preparing for college. I have been a member of Key Club all four years of my high school career and am nearing my 500 service hour mark! I am super eager to start working with each and every one of you. I have high expectations of myself in this position and hope to make all of you proud.
With that being said we as a District are a team and must work accordingly. I thank you for your service, which has grown The Southwest District to 6,000 members!

day is dedicated to a specific theme.

Tomorrow November 1st is the Early Bird Dues Deadline.
The Final Dues Deadline is December 1st. Please plan ahead so that you have plenty of time for your payments to process through your school and reach Key
Club International in time to be processed.
Dues are $11.50 total - $7 to KCI and $4.50 to the SWD

It is very important for many reasons that as club officers you turn in your reports on time and filled out accurately. Your monthly club reports help the Southwest District Board stay informed of what is going on in your club and
evaluate any areas you may need help in. Monthly reports can be found on the Southwest District website under the resources tab – swdkeyclub.org (excluding
the LtG evaluations). For extra convenience they can be filled out from your computer or your smartphone.

Treasurer Duties Responsible!for!the!club’s!records,!it!is!imperative!that!the!secretary!be!prompt,!organized,!and!efficient.!This!means!that!the!club’s!records!must!be!kept!up!to!date!and!orderly.!The!secretary’s!Key!Club!record!file!should!include!the!following:!!
•!Club!bylaws!•!Key!Club!Guidebook!!•!District!constitution!and!bylaws!!•!Key!Club!Timeline!•!Minutes!of!all!club!meetingsKregular!and!board!meetings!!•!Committee!reports!!•!List!of!committee!chairs!and!members!!•!Club’s!past!achievement!reports!!•!Club’s!past!monthly!reports!!•!Copies!of!the!club’s!current!and!past!annual!dues!submissions!•!Club!roster!having!the!following!information!for!each!member:!!

•!Collect!member!dues.!In!coordination!with!the!secretary,!forward!dues,!the!invoice,!and!your!club’s!Membership!Roster!to!the!International!Office.!!•!Prepare!the!club’s!budget,!present!it!to!the!board!for!approval,!and!ensure!that!club!activities!adhere!to!the!budget.!!•!Maintain!accurate!financial!records!throughout!the!year!to!be!reviewed!at!any!time!by!members,!other!officers,!or!administration.!!•!Transact!business!through!a!bank!or!school!account.!!•!Inform!the!club!of!its!financial!strengths!and!weaknesses.!!•!File!appropriate!forms!with!the!Internal!Revenue!Service!by!February!15!(for!US!clubs!only).!!•!Inform!the!Kiwanis!Club!of!the!Key!Club’s!financial!status.!!•!Disburse!funds!and!pay!bills!promptly!as!approved!by!the!board!of!directors.!!•!Reconcile!bank!statements.!!•!Bill!members!for!unpaid!dues.!!•!Deposit!club!funds.!!•!Understand!school!and!club!policies!regarding!student!financial!accounts!relating!to!school!organizations.!
OCFs Officer Certification Forms are vital in order facilitate communication between the District Board, your Lieutenant Governors, and most importantly you! If you have not yet turned in or completed your OCF it is crucial that you do so now. Please include all officers that are a part of your club not just the ones listed on the form. The OCF form can be found on the SWD website under the resources tab. After completing it please email me the PDF version.

! Ask Key Club members, students at your high school and community members to donate miscellaneous goods and items to your cause
