Meals to You (MTY) Program
• Demonstration Project only for eligible School Districts
• Children eligible for free/reduced meals will receive one box every 2 weeks with 20 meals (10 breakfasts and 10 lunches/suppers)
School District Eligibility1. Have announced school closures for at least
four weeks2. Building(s) have 50% or higher free and
reduced-price lunch eligibility3. Are designated rural
• Michigan participating with invite only to districts that meet eligibility and are not serving in Unanticipated School Closure SFSP
Pandemic EBT (P-EBT)
• SNAP benefits for all families with children who were receiving free or reduced meals prior to the crisis
• Including all children at CEP sites• Including all those directly certified, or certified by categorical
eligibility or application at the local level
• Benefit will be in the amount equivalent to the reimbursement rate for free breakfast + free lunch multiplied by the number of days of the closure per month per child
• Those already receiving SNAP will see benefit added to their cards• Those not already receiving SNAP will get a card in the mail they will need
to “pin” to indicate their consent for participation
USDA Foods Update• Consortia should be moving entitlement around to schools
operating the USC SFSP• Schools not operating should consider donating inventory-

• The Michigan Food Banks distribution rates have more than doubled in the last three weeks and continue to rise. The meal support from Unanticipated School Closure sites is a valuable support to continued feeding at the local level across the state
Accounting During Statewide School
Closure
Unanticipated School Closure Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) revenues and expenditures should be tracked and reported to the SFSP grant code 858 in the Food Service Fund (Fund 25).

Reimbursement Claims• Traditional School Meal Program Claims are available now for meals
served before mandatory school closures.• We are in final testing of new claim page in MiND for Unanticipated
School Closure SFSP. • Expect within a few days.
• Previously used SFSP claim for USC during Polar Vortex will not work.• Webinars on new claims:
