in 008 GreenKreinik 1/8” Ribbon in

100 White and 005 BlackDMC Embroidery floss

in 809, 310 and 435Quick-Count® 10-ct plastic

canvas by UniekFabri-Tac™ Permanent Adhesive by Beacon™

scissorsplastic canvas needle (No. 18)

Backing material: fabric, perforated paper or card stock

INSTRUCTIONS:1. Cut canvas according to

graphs, and as follows:Base—18 x 18 holesBackground—16 x 16 holesFir Trees—13 x 13 holesLog Cabin—10 x 8 holes

2. Using three strands of color809 Delft floss:Work the background piece com-pletely in cross stitches. Overcastthe edges with Delft, using 2stitches per hole. Work the logcabin in cross stitches in colorsindicated. Add black back stitchesfor the door, windows and todefine the front of cabin.

Matching colors, overcast edges,using 2 stitches/hole — black forroof, brown very light for chim-ney and cabin.

3. Work fir trees in Kreinik 1/8”Ribbon 100 White and Heavy(#32) Braid in 008 Green in con-tinental stitches. Overcast edgesof trees with white, using 1stitch/hole.

4. Holding background piecelike a diamond, tack fir trees tobackground, 3/8” from the topcorner with white 1/8” Ribbon,over existing white continentalstitches.

5. Place log cabin about 5/8”from bottom corner of back-ground, over fir trees. Using 3strands of very light brown DMCfloss, tack log cabin to back-ground along bottom edge andleft side of cabin and right side ofchimney (through fir trees).

6. Using 3 strands of delft DMCfloss, whipstitch background tounstitched base, leaving one holearound all edges.

7. Overcast edges of base withKreinik 1/8” Ribbon 005 Blackusing 1 stitch/hole.

8. Cut a 3” piece of white 1/8”Ribbon. Glue with Fabri-Tac™ tobackground, below log cabin,tacking at intervals whiletwirling/winding ribbon to makesnowy drifts. Glue backing mate-rial to back of pin. Glue pinbackto center of backing material.
