Billed as, “The Original American Forestry Show,” and the oldest event of its kind, the three-day event attracted for- est industry professionals from throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. More than 100 exhibitors were on hand to show off the latest equipment, services and products geared to the forest industry. Numerous education- al sessions, including a seminar on understanding the new EPArequired Tier IV Level emission terms on engines were offered. The event featured a loader competition, sponsored by John Deere Construction and Forestry Company and Leslie Equipment Co. The Ohio Forestry Association held its annual OfficialPaul Bunyan Show Oct. 1 to 3 at the Guernsey CountyFairgrounds, Cambridge, Ohio.

Billed as, “The Original American Forestry Show,” andthe oldest event of its kind, the three-day event attracted for-est industry professionals from throughout Ohio,Pennsylvania and West Virginia. More than 100 exhibitorswere on hand to show off the latest equipment, services andproducts geared to the forest industry. Ohio State University Plays Host to48th Annual Farm Science Review Ohio State University’s College of Food,

Agricultural and Environmental Sciences held its48th annual Farm Science Review at the Molly

Caren Agricultural Center near London, Ohio, Sept. 21 to23.

The three-day outdoor agricultural trade-show featurednearly 600 commercial exhibitors representing about4,000 equipment lines on display at the 2,100-acre MollyCaren Agricultural Center. In addition to the equipment ondisplay, there also were educational displays presented byOhio State and state and federal agencies. According toshow officials, 125,000 to 145,000 visitors were expectedto attend.

The event, which run by OSU’s College of Food,Agricultural and Environmental Sciences with help fromthe OSU Extension and the Ohio Agricultural Researchand Development Center, also featured equipment demon-strations, conservation awards and programs and craftactivities. There were field demonstrations included har-vesting, tillage and a hands-on global positioning presen-tation.

Frey & Sons Auctioneers Holds Sale for DiPietro ExcavatingFrey & Sons Auctioneers held a sale Oct. 6 for DiPietro

Excavating Inc. at the company’s yard in East Canton,Ohio. DiPietro Excavating arranged the sale after the

company decided to downsize its operations and looked tosell off excess equipment.

The auction was absolute and unreserved with the excep-tion of a few items. Afew additional consignments also wereincluded in the auction. Among some of the featured equip-ment up for bid were late model Caterpillar and John Deereexcavators, Caterpillar, John Deere and Komatsu dozers anda late model Volvo articulated dump truck as well as a selec-tion of backhoes and skid steers.

Robert Frey keeps the bidding moving in East Canton. The auction drew an enthusiastic crowd of bidders.
