CLASSES

Classes 1 , 2 and 3 are divided into a School and a Pony Club section. Competitors must choose whether to represent their School or Pony Club

Classes 4 and 5 are open to individuals and Pony Club teams and are also Dengie Debut and Winter League first round qualifiers for Pony Club members only.

Class 6 are open to all individuals and Pony Club teams.

***GRASSROOTS CLASSES*** Classes 1, 2 and 3 are grassroots classes aimed at very young or novice riders. The courses will be designed as such. Please embrace the grassroots spirit!

Class 1 – Fences maximum 50cm. Course of 10 jumps, single phase Section 1A: Schools (NSEA members) Individuals and Teams. Grass Roots Championship Qualifier (top 6 teams and individuals) Section 1B: Individuals and Pony Club Teams May be assisted but not led. Class 1 is not open to riders jumping in Classes 4, 5 or 6.

• Single phase: Single Phase Competition (course in two parts with second part timed. Competitors to

jump both parts unless eliminated. Faults to be accumulated.

All classes £14 (OBH North members £12)

Teams: £8 per team (in addition to individual entry)

An additional fee of £4 per competitor to cover Paramedics attendance

Entries in all classes will be accepted strictly in order of receipt, please apply early.

Entries close on Sunday 2nd October 2016 (or earlier if classes are full)

Late entries, numbers permitting, will be subject to an additional £5 charge per

rider/per class and will be drawn first

No entries on the day.

PRIZES – Rosettes and prizes to be awarded for 1st to 4th for Teams in each section and 1st to 8th for Individuals in all sections/classes. Prize giving will be un-mounted, in correct dress at the end of each class. Prize to highest placed OBH North member in each class.

RULES - NSEA 2014, PONY CLUB AND THE FOLLOWING TO APPLY:

ELIGIBILITY – this competition is open to all. Classes are split into NSEA and Pony Club sections where appropriate.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY - The judge’s decision is final. Entry fees cannot be refunded without a Vet or Doctor’s certificate. In any event, £5 will be retained to cover administration costs. No entry will be accepted without the correct fee and signed entry forms for all competitors.

CLASS SPECIFIC RULES – Section A in each class will run under NSEA rules and Section B will run under Pony Club

rules.

In classes 1A, 2A and 3A a pony may be ridden by two different riders in the same class. In all remaining classes and sections the following rules will apply: No horse may compete in more than 3 classes or be ridden more than once in each class.

Teams in classes run under NSEA rules must consist of at least 3 different riders. A rider may only compete once in each team. Teams in classes run under Pony Club rules may include riders riding more than one horse/pony DENGIE For Class 5 additional Dengie rules apply, for full details –

RUNNING ORDER - Classes will run in the following order: NSEA teams first then individuals, followed by Pony Club teams then Pony Club individuals. Competitors jump only once in each class. Competitors are responsible for being

ready to compete when called. Please declare at your class at least 10 minutes before your start time.

TEAMS - Riders may compete for either a School team or a Pony Club team. Teams to consist of 3 or 4 riders. Best 3 scores will count. Competitors jump only once whether individual or team and all team members automatically count as individuals.

GRASSROOTS QUALIFICATION - Top 6 teams and individuals in classes 1, 2 and 3 will qualify for the NSEA Grass Roots Championship to be held in Autumn 2016. See rules - http://www.nsea.org.uk/assets/files/Rules-2015-16/NSEA-

TEAM MANAGERS: Only the Team Manager of each school / Pony Club Branch is to deal with the secretary for declarations, enquiries, objections etc. It is the responsibility of the team manager to declare their competitors on arrival at the venue and collect the numbers. Objections must be made in writing to the Secretary within 5 minutes of the conclusion of the relevant class with a £50 deposit. Video or photographic evidence is not admissible

TV/ PHOTOGRAPHY/WEBSITE/PRESS – Please note that professional photographers (SBM Photographic) will be present and photographs available to purchase on the day. There may also be TV cameras at the Championships. If you do not wish for your child to be photographed or to appear in results in the equestrian press or the OBH North Pony Club website, please indicate on the Entry Form.

REFRESHMENTS - will be available from onsite indoor cafe

DOGS - must be kept under control and on a lead at all times.

HELMETS - Pony Club riders must have hats which have been tagged.

PARAMEDICS – will be in attendance.

VET - on call service will be provided by ?

DISCLAIMER - the organisers have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organisers, officials and stewards. Any damages must be paid for. Vehicles, boxes and trailers and are parked entirely at the owner’s risk and the organisers will not be liable for any claims in respect of damage, loss or injury to any person, whether spectator, competitor, horse or property howsoever caused, in connection with or arising out of the competition. All competitors and those associated with their school are the responsibility of the Team Manager whilst at the competition.

CANCELLATION - the organisers reserve the right to cancel the event, in which case entry fees will be refunded (less

£2 per competitor). In the event of adverse weather conditions the competition will be rescheduled, please check the

OBH North website for information.
