On-Line ExampleODB++ PCB import

odb_on_line.zip


On-Line ExampleFile->Open, choose ODB++ Database (*.tgz, *.zip, *.xml)

from file extention list


PCB import dialog: Log file

Appearance of dialog box after file opening: input files are read in and data are transformed into CST PCB layout database (ldb)

Conversion of input data is only done once, CST PCB database file will be automatically invoked.


PCB import dialog: Stackup

Stack-up length unit.

All columns are editable

Stack-up information can besaved or loaded



Permittivity values need to be defined, the default value could be wrong



The Stackup thickness is directly imported only when using:

MGC Expedition ASCII import

Zuken CR-5000 ASCII import

A part is characterized by the following information:

Load / Save parts specifications independently of layout

Import components


Model color code:

part will be imported into MWS

part specifications incomplete

Change EM model of given part, currently supported: lumped element

RLC parallel/serial

Diode



“Height" above mount layer

connected to mount layer bywires of given “Diameter“

if Height=0, Diameter=0 allowed

RLC editor works as in CST MWS

Reference length for hexahedral mesh settings: increase it for coarser mesh



Healing / cleaning tolerance



Min. hole area (mult. of Tolerance^2): smaller holes will be removed during cleaning



Segmentation step for circles in degrees (none if zero).
