Reflection of the Gospel:
Jesus prefaces this new commandment to his
disciples by telling them, “I will be with you on-
ly a little longer.” Speaking at the Las Supper,
Jesus prepares his disciples for what is to come.
Soon Jesus will not be with them in the tangible
way they are used to. They will no longer be
able to walk with him in person or to ask him
their questions and hear an answer with their
ears. They are moving into a new time of disci-
pleship, a time that will require more from them.
In this time to come they are to love one another
as Jesus has loved them. And soon, Jesus will
show them just what that love looks like when
he lays down his life.
“Lord Jesus, your love knows no bounds and surpasses
everything I could desire and long for. Fill me with the fire
of your love and with the joy of your Holy Spirit that I may
freely serve my neighbor with loving-kindness,
tenderhearted mercy, and generous care for their
well-being."
Reflexión del Evangelio:
Jesús presenta este nuevo mandamiento a sus
discípulos diciéndoles:
"Estaré contigo un poco más". Hablando en la
Cena de Las, Jesús prepara a sus discípulos para
lo que vendrá. Pronto Jesús no estará con ellos de
la manera tangible a la que están acostumbrados.
Ya no podrán caminar con él en persona o hacerle
sus preguntas y escuchar una respuesta con sus
oídos. Se están moviendo hacia un nuevo tiempo
de discipulado, un tiempo que requerirá más de
ellos. En este tiempo por venir, deben amarse
como Jesús los ha amado. Y pronto, Jesús les
mostrará cómo se ve ese amor cuando da su vida.
“Señor Jesús, tu amor no tiene límites y supera todo lo que
podría desear y anhelar. Lléname con el fuego de tu amor y con el
gozo de tu Espíritu Santo para que pueda servir libremente a mi
prójimo con amor bondadoso, misericordia sincera y generoso
cuidado de su bienestar ".

MINISTRY ASSIGNMENT
Congratulations to everyone who received the
Sacraments of Confirmation and First Holy
Communion. We had beautiful celebrations for
these sacraments during the past weekends.
Cardinal Roger Mahony was impressed by the
confirmands with the way they responded and
participated in the liturgy. He commended the
Confirmation Team in his letter of gratitude.
Indeed, we are grateful to the Religious Education Department
of our parish who has been working with devotion and
dedication for our young people and for our children. They
have also prepared very well our children for the celebration
and reception of their first Holy Communion. We also thank
the parents for their active participation, as they continue to do
their responsibility of bringing up their children in the practice
of their faith. It is our hope and prayer that the young members
of our parish will continue to participate actively in our
liturgical celebrations. Let us continue accompanying them in
their journey of faith. Let us keep on reaching out to them as
they nurture and deepen their faith and their relationship with
the Lord and his Church. We pray that they may become true
disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We do everything for the glory of God. Our Lord Jesus tells
his disciples in the gospel that God is glorified in him. And if
God is glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself.
We take part in this glory of the Lord as we follow the new
commandment that he says in the gospel: “Love one another.
As I have loved you, so you also should love one another. This
is how all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love
for one another.
DID YOU KNOW? Know the ways predators groom children
One of the ways a predator grooms his potential victims is by
allowing children to do things their parents wouldn’t — anything
from playing video games, seeing R or PG-13 rated movies, or
trying drugs and alcohol. To children, it can be exciting or tempting
when another adult says they get to do something they want to do
and have been previously denied. For the predator, this begins to set
up a perceived relationship in which the predator becomes a trusted
ally to whom the child can turn. Parents should be aware of who
their children spend time with, and what they do together. To learn

Felicitaciones a todos los que recibieron los
Sacramentos de Confirmación y Primera
Comunión. Tuvimos hermosas celebraciones
para estos sacramentos durante los últimos fines
de semana. Al cardenal Roger Mahony le
impresionaron los confirmandos por la forma
en que respondieron y participaron en la
liturgia. Elogió al Equipo de Confirmación en
su carta de agradecimiento. De hecho, estamos agradecidos con
el Departamento de Educación Religiosa de nuestra parroquia
que ha estado trabajando con devoción y dedicación para
nuestros jóvenes y para nuestros niños. También han preparado
muy bien a nuestros hijos para la celebración y recepción de su
primera comunión. También agradecemos a los padres por su
participación activa, ya que continúan haciendo su
responsabilidad de criar a sus hijos en la práctica de su fe. Es
nuestra esperanza y oración que los miembros jóvenes de
nuestra parroquia continúen participando activamente en
nuestras celebraciones litúrgicas. Sigamos acompañándolos en
su jornada de fe. Sigamos acercándonos a ellos mientras nutren
y profundizan su fe y su relación con el Señor y su Iglesia.
Oramos para que se conviertan en verdaderos discípulos de
nuestro Señor Jesucristo.
Hacemos todo para la gloria de Dios. Nuestro Señor Jesús le
dice a sus discípulos en el evangelio que Dios es glorificado en
él. Y si Dios es glorificado en él, Dios también lo glorificará en
sí mismo. Tomamos parte en esta gloria del Señor al seguir el
nuevo mandamiento que dice en el evangelio: “Amaos los unos
a los otros. Como te he amado, también debes amarte el uno al
otro. Así es como todos sabrán que ustedes son mis discípulos,
si se aman los unos a los otros.
¿SABÍA USTED? Conozca las formas en que los depredadores preparan a los niños
Una de las formas en que un depredador prepara a sus víctimas
potenciales es permitiendo que los niños hagan cosas que sus padres
de familia no los dejarían hacer, desde jugar videojuegos, ver
películas clasificadas R o PG-13, o probar drogas y alcohol. Para los
niños puede ser emocionante o tentador cuando otro adulto dice que
pueden hacer algo que quieren hacer y que se les ha negado
anteriormente. Para el depredador, esto comienza a establecer una
relación en la cual él se convierte en un aliado de confianza al que el
niño puede recurrir. Los padres de familia deben saber con quién pasan el
