Dear Parish Family of Our Lady of Loretto, As we begin our renewed life in Christ as the Parish of “Our Lady at St. Germaine,” may our legend continue under the patronesses of Our Lady of Loretto and St. Germaine to be a welcoming people and compassionate people. Our vision and our mission is to build a vibrant and vital parish family, using our gifts, blessings, and talents, as we join the resources of both church sites and campuses. Through the inspiration and intercession of Our Lady of Loretto may we be enabled. To be Disciples That Evangelize: We need engaging, ongoing, kerygmatic (that is: preachers of the gospel of Christ, espe-cially in the manner of the early church.) We must build entry points that provide introduction to a life of faith in Christ that will shepherd people to our Sunday Worship. To Build Community: We need to live out hospitality, to welcome and nurture a spiritual home for all through the ex-ample of Our Lady of Loretto, to build a Holy House. To Be Formed and to Form Others: We need to move to formation programs (not just for our children) that focus on both catechesis and spiritual growth to ensure that our parish formation programs meet people where they are. To Serve and Reach Out: We need to go out, meet, and serve through the example of St. Germaine, to build family and invite people into our faith community. These aspirations begin with us being Christ like in our attitude by “Having a Heart for the Lost.” In the image of our new parish patronesses and in the image of Christ Himself, who gave His life on the Cross for the lost - all of us, may we be renewed through the Eucharist, the heart of who we are as a Catholic people and the parish family of “Our Lady at St. Germaine.” Fr. Thomas S. Cabala, Pastor

Congratulations to Fr. Mike Furlan on his retirement. He leaves all of us this prayer.

PRAYER FOR OUR NEW PARISH FAMILY

God our Father, You are the Lord of History and the Lord of Eternity. When You sent Your Son among us, He entered into our own time and made it sacred. He gathered a people to Himself and sent the Holy Spirit upon them to establish a Church on earth to proclaim the Kingdom of Heaven. In our own place and time, you have blessed those people who have gathered to form the parish families of Our Lady of Loretto and St. Germaine. We give You praise and thanks for the blessings You have poured out upon us through-out our history. As we gather to unite these two parish fami-lies into one, we pray for the enduring presence of the Holy Spirit in our midst. We join our prayer to that of Your Son who prayed that all may be one as You Father are One with Your Son and the Holy Spirit. Send forth Your blessings upon our efforts to create a new Parish Family in response to that prayer. May this new blended family continue to proclaim Your Kingdom by our presence, our words and our actions. We ask this through Your Son, Jesus Christ who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spir-it, one God forever and ever. AMEN Fr. Mike is the fifth Pastor at St. Germaine Parish. He has served the Archdiocese of Chicago for over 44 years. LECTOR/EUCHARISTIC MINISTER SCHEDULE
